KBO Predictions for Round 129 – Thursday, October 1, 2020

The KBO regular season will continue in October and there are still several big questions that need answers before we enter the playoffs later in the month. The standings are tight and we don’t know who’s going to reach the postseason yet.

Every game matters big time at this point and I take that into account in my KBO predictions for Thursday. I share my thoughts on all series, but there are no odds or betting picks included because the sportsbooks are yet to release their lines.

With that in mind, here are all games I cover in my KBO predictions for October 1.                                                  

I really thought that the Lions can win game two of the series and they almost did. The team was leading for most of the clash, but allowed several late runs that forced an extra inning. KT Wiz showed more composure to register a crucial victory overcome the Heroes in the KBO standings.

The squad from Suwon should have the upper hand in the last game of the series too, mostly because of the better starting pitcher. Odrisamer Despaigne has been excellent this season and he should have the support of the offense, so I’m going for KT Wiz on Thursday.

The Heroes lost for the second time against the Tigers and that means they now sit third in the table, while their opponent is tied for fifth. Both sides are in desperate need of wins and it’s hard to predict who’s going to get one.

The Tigers certainly have the momentum after winning twice already, while the Heroes are expected to start the better pitcher. I’m going to back them in my KBO predictions for Thursday because of that, but this clash could go either way.

I believe that the Twins had a strong display on Wednesday when it comes to the defense. The team was far from its best on the other end but still won after a good run in the sixth inning. I think that the Giants are done and won’t make the playoffs after this defeat.

This should decrease their morale and the Twins have all the means to take full advantage of that on Thursday. They just won against the same opponent and they are projected to start the better pitcher. That’s enough for me to go for LG in game three of the series.

Just when I thought that the Bears might have found some form, they lost 10-0 to the last-placed team in the country. The reigning champions simply have no offense right now and that’s a huge problem, especially in the games in which the starting pitcher is struggling too.

Looking at the team news for Thursday, that’s exactly the case. The Eagles have won three of the last four games against Doosan over the past ten days, so the smart choice would be to ignore the league positions of both sides and back Hanwha once again.

The NC Dinos got their tenth victory in a row on Wednesday and there’s no reason to expect them to slow down. The KBO leaders are just better than every other team in the country and an opponent like the Wyverns is unlikely to stop them.

SK’s projected starting pitcher on Thursday is a guy with abysmal stats, so the Dinos are likely to score plenty of runs once again. At the same time, they sending a decent pitcher that should be able to contain the second-words offense in the division.

All arguments are in favor of the Dinos, so I feel obliged to back them in my KBO predictions for Thursday.
