Picks and Predictions for KBO Games – Wednesday, May 18th, 2022

Tuesday’s KBO games kicked off the week after an off day Monday. There were a couple of interesting results from those games, so we will have to see how they translate into Wednesday.
The KT Wiz and Hanwha Eagles both pulled off upsets, but the most interesting game was between the SSG Landers and Doosan Bears. SSG came flying out of the gate with 8 runs in the first 2 innings.
That didn’t stop the relentless Bears though, as they came surging all the way back. A 4 run 8th inning tied the game at 9 a piece, completing the improbable after the first two innings. It was a stalemate after that though, with the game ending in a tie.
Let’s see if Wednesday’s games will have some funk to them, by taking a look at the KBO odds.
KBO Odds for Wednesday, May 18th, 2022
- Kiwoom Heroes (-113) vs. NC Dinos (-117), O/U 9.5
- LG Twins (-139) vs. KT Wiz (+109), O/U 8.5
- Kia Tigers (+178) vs. Lotte Giants (-218), O/U 7.5
- SSG Landers (-116) vs. Doosan Bears (-114), O/U 7.5
- Samsung Lions (-143) vs. Hanwha Eagles (+113), O/U 8
After beating the NC Dinos 11-4 yesterday and extending their record to 4-0 against them, the Kiwoom Heroes find themselves as slight underdogs for Wednesday’s game. The Heroes are also on a league-best 4 game winning streak headed into this one as well.
That could be something very interesting for this slate, so make sure you keep an eye on the odds throughout the day.
Kia was able to get the upset on Tuesday, so it will be interesting to see if they can pull it off two games in a row. They face one of the league’s best pitchers in Charlie Barnes, so it won’t be easy at all.
The Landers became the only team in the league to have two ties after yesterday’s 9-9 split with Doosan. They are still in first place and are 3 games ahead of second (LG Twins). This game is basically split evenly odds-wise, which means you can expect another close one.
Hanwha was able to upset Samsung yesterday, but the Lions remain one of the hottest teams in the league.

KBO Predictions for Wednesday’s Games
- Kiwoom Heroes Over NC Dinos
- KT Wiz Over LG Twins
- Lotte Giants Over Kia Tigers
- Doosan Bears Over SSG Landers
- Samsung Lions Over Hanwha Eagles
These are my KBO predictions for how Wednesday’s games will play out. There are a lot of even matchups across the board here, so expect some tight games. That might mean taking a +1.5 spread could be our best option here for some of them.
Even though Jeong Chan-heon had his worst start of the 2022 season against the Dinos (2 IP, 3 ER), he’s been a reliable pitcher overall. He should be in for a nice bounceback performance and lead Kiwoom to an “upset” win.
I don’t think it’s a good idea to go against Charlie Barnes with the way he’s been pitching in 2022. He’s started in 9 games, which has translated to a perfect 6-0 record. His ERA is untouchable at 1.26 in 57.1 innings. Barnes has only allowed more than one earned run in one of his 9 starts.
Although the Landers and Bears game is so evenly matched that they could tie again, I’ll give the edge to Doosan. They have home field advantage and SSG’s bullpen 7.34 ERA in their last 10 games seems very unreliable.
Samsung should have no problem getting back in the winner’s column against the 9th place team in Hanwha. They scored 6 runs in just 5 innings against Kim Min-woo once already this year.
Best KBO Bets to Target for 5/18/2022
I mentioned earlier that taking a +1.5 point spread is a good thing to do in close games. That should be the case for the Wiz taking on the LG Twins. LG is a tough team, so beating them two days in a row won’t be easy.
If they keep it within one run, we could still hit our bet even if they lose the game outright. The Twins have been the better team in 2022, but the Wiz were able to score a good amount of runs on Kim Yun-sik once already this season.
In what should be a close game, you could take the Wiz’s moneyline (+109) in another upset or take the safer route in their spread.
The Lions are still 8-2 in their last 10 games and are hitting almost .300 as a team during that span. Samsung already scored a good amount on their opposing pitcher for Wednesday this year, while Hwang Dong-jae’s 2.49 ERA should be more than good enough to win this game by 2.
Although Charlie Barnes is on the mound for the Giants, I think the under should be a nice bet overall. You can take the Giants to win, but (-218) odds aren’t that appetizing. Han Seung-hyuk has been respectable this year as well with his 2.52 ERA in 35.2 innings.
The under bet seems to be a good option and makes my 3 best KBO betting picks list for this slate. Head over to the best KBO betting sites to place your bets for Wednesday.
