Picks and Predictions for KBO Games – Tuesday, May 17th, 2022

Our KBO picks are back for this week. Tuesday’s odds are live, which means it’s time to take a look and see which teams we should be betting on. The standings are closer than ever right now, so we could see some even more movement here soon.
The SSG Landers remain in first place, but they no longer have a huge lead on the second place team. That’s currently the LG Twins, who are just 2.5 games back on the Landers. They’re 8-2 in their last 10, which has helped them climb the leaderboard.
The only team hotter than LG right now is the Samsung Lions. Samsung has been nothing short of spectacular over the last few weeks or so, winning 9 of their last 10 and climbing to 5th place.
Let’s see if we can start this week off right by taking a look at the KBO betting odds for Tuesday.
KBO Odds for Tuesday, May 17th, 2022
- Kia Tigers (-110) vs. Lotte Giants (-120), O/U 8.5
- Kiwoom Heroes (-130) vs. NC Dinos (EVEN), O/U 8.5
- LG Twins (-170) vs. KT Wiz (+130), O/U 7.5
- SSG Landers (-135) vs. Doosan Bears (+105), O/U 7.5
- Samsung Lions (-165) vs. Hanwha Eagles (+125), O/U 9.5
Starting off our slate on Tuesday is a matchup between the Kia Tigers and Lotte Giants. This is going to be a close one and the odds reflect that.
Lotte oddly struggles at home compared to being the away team. They are 13-6 on the road and are 7-10-1 at home. They have split their first 2 games against each other, so it will be interesting to see who can get the upper hand here.
The next game we have is between the 6th place Kiwoom Heroes and 9th place NC Dinos. Kiwoom went an unimpressive 4-6 in their last 10 games, while NC has been no better at 3-7. Kiwoom has been the better team for the majority of this season, but they are still struggling.
The Landers have won the first 2 out of their 3 head to head matchups. The Lions will also look to continue their impressive surge up the leaderboard with a favorable matchup against the last place Eagles.

KBO Predictions for Tuesday’s Games
- Kia Tigers Over Lotte Giants
- Kiwoom Heroes Over NC Dinos
- LG Twins Over KT Wiz
- Doosan Bears Over SSG Landers
- Samsung Lions Over Hanwha Eagles
I am going to roll with a couple of upsets for my KBO predictions for Tuesday. First is a minor upset with the Kia Tigers over the Lotte Giants. The odds reflect how close this game should be, despite Lotte currently having the better record.
Lee Eui-lee will take the mound for Kia, who’s 3.25 ERA is respectable. Glenn Sparkman on the other hand has a 7.65 ERA, which is incredibly tough to rely on.
He also played the Bears once this season and allowed 4 runs in just 5.1 innings pitched. The Landers bullpen has also been the worst in the KBO over their last 10 games with an abysmal 7.62 ERA.
I think the favored teams should be more reliable to bet on the rest of the way.
Choi Won-tae already shut out the Dinos in 7 innings earlier this year. If that happens again, it should be a comfortable win for the Heroes.
The Twins and Wiz game should be close, but LG has been better at hitting and in the bullpen recently.
Samsung has been on fire and is matched up with one of the worst teams in the league. This should be a perfect time for them to improve on their record even more.
Best KBO Bets to Target for 5/17/2022
For my 3 best KBO betting picks for Tuesday, I am rolling with 3 teams to get wins. One of these teams is an underdog, which should mean there’s great value here if they can pull off the upset.
The SSG Landers have been the league’s best team for basically the entire 2022 season. With that being said, they are just 5-5 in their last 10 games and could be as vulnerable as ever. Doosan could have a serious chance at an upset, but their run line odds (+1.5, -170) look like something you could target as well.
The Bears’ batters already scored a good chunk of runs on Ivan Nova back on April 29th and could do so again. They get to play at home this time as well. Even if the game is close going into the late innings, SSG’s bullpen has been miserable and could hand Doosan the win.
Kiwoom should have a great chance of beating the Dinos and the odds aren’t too steep in negative territory either. Choi Won-tae already dominated them once this year and the Heroes ended up winning 10-0 in that game.
Lastly, the Lions look good enough to beat just about any team in the KBO right now. They are facing a team who is tied for last in the Hanwha Eagles. That should make it even easier for them to get the win.
The Lions are batting an absurd .315 as a team in their last 10 games, while their pitching has held opponents to a league-low 2.30 runs per game in that span as well.
