Picks and Predictions for KBO Games – Thursday, May 19th, 2022

Welcome back to our KBO picks for Thursday. Yesterday’s games were pretty wild, so we are hoping for a more predictable day this time around. This is the final game of the series for each of the 5 games between the KBO teams.

The standings have been tight all year and it’s no different right now. SSG won yesterday’s game after going into extra innings again with Doosan. They improved to 26-12-2 on the year, which is 3 games ahead of second place (LG Twins).

Doosan is sitting in their place, so a win against the first place team would help them out tremendously. The rest of the standings are pretty even as well. 7th place (Kia Tigers) is just 1.0 games back behind third place.

These games are crucial even though it’s still early in the season. Let’s take a look at Thursday’s KBO betting odds and see which teams are favored to win.

The Kia Tigers have been able to defeat the higher seeded Lotte Giants in their first two games of the series. They are now favored to win Game 3 and go for the sweep. That would be huge for the Tigers, which would allow them to jump Lotte in the standings.

Despite being tied for last place in the standings, the NC Dinos find themselves favored to beat the 6th place Kiwoom Heroes. The first two games in this series have been blowouts in both directions. Kiwoom won 11-4 on Tuesday, while NC got back with a 15-3 win on Wednesday.

KT and LG have also split their series as well. The Wiz find themselves favored to win the rubber match, which couldn’t come at a better time.

The Landers still have the 1st place crown this year and are favored to beat Doosan on Thursday. This series has been unbelievably close so far. Both games have gone into the 12th inning. One of them was a tie and the other was a Landers’ victory.

Samsung continued their winning ways in dramatic fashion last night. A 4-run 9th inning helped us cash our -1.5 (+118) pick.

There are a ton of games that should be incredibly close for Thursday. Keep that in mind when making your own KBO predictions for this slate. The only game I think that’s a relatively easy pick is the Lions beating the Eagles. Other than that, everything is up for grabs.

Won Tae-in has already beaten Hanwha this year, going 7 innings and allowing 7 runs (3 hits, 8 strikeouts). That should give the surging Lions another strong chance of winning.

Another game with even better starting pitchers is going to be in the Kiwoom vs. NC game. An Woo-jin has a 2.52 ERA and Drew Rucinski has a 1.71 ERA coming into this one. This exact matchup actually took place on April 14th and Kiwoom won 1-0.

Ko Young-pyo should be able to give KT a good chance of winning with his 2.64 ERA. KT’s offense has been the problem, but Im Chan-kyu’s 6.45 ERA in 2022 can help them score some runs.

The Bears were the only team to score more than 3 runs on Wilmer Font this season. He’s been very good this year, but so has Choi Seung-yong (3.09 ERA). This should be another close game and the first two already went into the 12th inning.

Here are my 3 best KBO betting picks for Thursday’s games. I have two unders and a spread pick, but these are all adjustable. If you think these games go slightly different, you can adjust the odds for better prices or a better likelihood of winning.

Im Chan-kyu hasn’t looked sharp in 2022, but he was good against KT in the 2021 season. All these factors should mean that the under is a good bet to target for this game.

The last time An Woo-jin and Drew Rucinski faced off, the combined run total was a whopping 1 run. If they both have similar performances, the under should be in good hands again.

Samsung pulled through for us in dramatic fashion last night and I’m going with them again here. Won Tae-in already shut them out in 7 innings once already this year, while Nam Ji-min’s 9.26 ERA is not good for Hanwha.
