Picks and Predictions for KBO Games – Thursday, June 9th, 2022

| June 8, 2022 1:32 pm PDT

Wednesday’s KBO predictions weren’t as exciting as they could have been, considering 2 of the 5 games ended in a tie. Hopefully we can have winner’s for each game on Thursday’s slate so our bets can win this time instead of being voided.

The Landers tied with the Dinos and the Heroes tied with the Wiz. That means the Landers’ first place lead remains at 2.5 games ahead of Kiwoom.

One team that has been slipping this week is the Kia Tigers, who have lost their last 3 in a row. They were dominating in the month of May (18-8, first in KBO), but they’ve hit a recent skid.

Let’s see if the Tigers can turn things around on Thursday, by taking a look at the KBO betting odds.

KBO Odds for Thursday, June 9th, 2022

  • Hanwha Eagles (+128) vs. Doosan Bears (-158), O/U 9.5 – Odds from BetOnline
  • KT Wiz (+112) vs. Kiwoom Heroes (-142), O/U 8
  • LG Twins (-128) vs. Kia Tigers (-102), O/U 9.5
  • SSG Landers (-133) vs. NC Dinos (+103), O/U 8.5
  • Samsung Lions (-113) vs. Lotte Giants (-117), O/U 8.5

After the Bears defeated the Eagles in Game 1 of the series, Hanwha got its revenge in Game 2. Game 3 will be the rubber match to see who wins the series, as the Bears are favored to win.

Kiwoom won Game 1 of their series against the Wiz and Game 2 ended in a 5-5 tie. Kiwoom is still the hottest team in the league, being 7-2-1 in their last 10 games, so they have the upper hand here again.

Next up on the KBO odds for Thursday is the Twins taking on the Tigers. The Twins were a bit underwhelming in May, but have won 4 of their first 6 games in June. Kia’s situation is basically the opposite, going from best May record to a rough June start (2-3-1).

The Landers had a perfect chance to gain some distance between them and the Heroes this week, but things didn’t go according to plan. NC is dead last, but the Landers are 0-1-1 against them this week.

The last game in the KBO betting odds for Thursday is the Giants slightly favored to beat the Lions. Samsung has won the first two games of the series and will be looking for the sweep in the last one.

KBO Predictions for Thursday’s Games

  • Doosan Bears Over Hanwha Eagles
  • Kiwoom Heroes Over KT Wiz
  • LG Twins Over Kia Tigers
  • SSG Landers Over NC Dinos
  • Samsung Lions Over Lotte Giants

First up on our KBO predictions is the Doosan Bears defeating the Hanwha Eagles. The Bears have been the better team for the majority of the season and have a chance to prove it here. They also have a favorable pitching matchup with Lee Young-ha (4.82 ERA) on the mound against Moon Dong-ju (6.94 ERA).

The next team we are trusting to win on our KBO picks is the Kiwoom Heroes. KT is sending out Wes Benjamin, who is making his debut in the KBO. His career ERA of 6.80 in the MLB (both minors and majors), is not very intriguing.

Tyler Eppler should be much more reliable in this one, who was able to hold the Wiz to just 1 run in 5.2 innings pitched the last time they faced off.

Kia’s 3-game losing streak might be extended to 4 on Thursday. The Twins are the league’s hottest team as of late and have the pitching advantage as well. Lee Min-ho already beat Kia once already this season, while Im Gi-yeong has already lost to LG this season.

Be very cautious when making your own KBO predictions for the last two games. The starting pitchers are going to be very difficult to predict here.

19 year old Kim Keon-woo is making his 1st start in 2022 and has a career 4.91 ERA in just 11 innings. On the other side, Lee Jae-hak has lost 5 decisions in a row and has a terrible 5.94 ERA.

Both pitchers have an ERA above 5.00 in the last game as well in Heo Yun-dong and Glenn Sparkman.

Top KBO Betting Picks to Target for 6/9/2022

Kiwoom Heroes to Win-142
LG Twins to Win-128
Samsung Lions to Win-113

Here are my 3 best KBO betting picks for Thursday’s games.

Kiwoom should have a high chance of beating the Wiz with Tyler Eppler on the mound. Eppler has a solid 3.06 ERA in 2022 and has already beaten the Wiz once this season. In that game, he pitched 5.2 innings and allowed just one run.

He did allow a lot of baserunners, but he should be more reliable than the Wiz’s starting pitcher. The Heroes’ bullpen and offense have also been more impressive than the Wiz’s as of late. Once the game enters the later innings, Kiwoom should still have the upper hand.

Next up on our KBO picks is the LG Twins to beat the Kia Tigers. Simply put, the Twins are doing great right now (6-3-1 in last 10 games) and the Tigers are not (4-5-1). Lee Min-ho has pitched 8.2 innings against Kia this year and held them to just 2 earned runs.

Im Gi-yeong gave up 3 earned runs in just 4 innings the last time he faced LG. The Twins are scoring the most runs per game in their last 10 in the KBO (6.3), while also having the best bullpen too (2.57 ERA).

The last of our KBO picks for Thursday is going to be the Lions beating the Giants. The first half of the game is going to be a bit murky with the struggling starting pitchers, but Samsung’s offense and bullpen are doing much better than Lotte’s recently.
