Picks and Predictions for KBO Games – Thursday, June 2nd, 2022

| June 1, 2022 2:09 pm PDT

Welcome back to our KBO picks of the day, as we head into Thursday this week. This will be Game 3 of the series for all of the 5 games. Each team will be trying to win the series as 4 out of 5 of them are split at a game apiece.

The only team who is in position for a 3- game sweep is the Kia Tigers over the Doosan Bears. Kia’s been on fire recently and finished with the best record in the month of May (18-8). They look to still have that same fire as last month, so Doosan will need a big effort to beat them on Thursday.

Let’s see what the other games are looking like for Thursday by looking at the KBO betting odds.

KBO Odds for Thursday, June 2nd, 2022

  • Kia Tigers (+109) vs. Doosan Bears (-139), O/U 8
  • KT Wiz (-113) vs. SSG Landers (-117), O/U 8
  • NC Dinos (-143) vs. Hanwha Eagles (+113), O/U 9
  • LG Twins (-120) vs. Lotte Giants (-110), O/U 8.5
  • Samsung Lions (-128) vs. Kiwoom Heroes (-102), O/U 7

We already mentioned how hot Kia is right now, so it’s a bit of a surprise to see them as underdogs against Doosan on Thursday again. Doosan will be hoping to at least win one game this series, as they have been struggling badly as of late.

The Wiz and Landers games have been as low-scoring and close as it gets. KT won Game 1 of the series 2-1, while the Landers won Game 2 to the same score. Does that mean Game 3 is going to be a score of 2-1 as well? It might be, as the over/under is set at 8 for this game.

The NC Dinos and Hanwha Eagles are basically battling to not be in last place, as the Dinos are currently there. They split the first two games, while the Dinos are favored to win the last one.

We’ve already talked about how hard to predict Games 1 and 2 of the LG vs. Lotte series were on our previous posts, so it’s no surprise to see them as basically even odds-wise for Game 3. LG dominated Wednesday’s game 14-5, but Lotte won Game 1 7-5.

Kiwoom’s 7-game winning streak was snapped by Samsung in their last game and the Lions are favored to win on Thursday again.

KBO Predictions for Thursday’s Games

  • Doosan Bears Over Kia Tigers
  • SSG Landers Over KT Wiz
  • NC Dinos Over Hanwha Eagles
  • LG Twins Over Lotte Giants
  • Samsung Lions Over Kiwoom Heroes

Here are my KBO predictions for who wins each game on Thursday’s slate.

Doosan should have a good chance of beating a hot Tigers team, thanks to Choi Won-joon being the projected starter. He has a respectable 2.43 ERA this season and pitched 6.1 innings and allowed just 1 run against Kia earlier this season.

It’s very impressive anytime you shut down Kia’s offense, and Won-joon did exactly that the last time he faced them.

Lee Tae-yang takes the mound for the Landers with a stellar 2.17 ERA. Odrisamer Despaigne will oppose, who’s ERA is not as impressive at 4.08. SSG got a hold of Despaigne the last time they faced him as well, scoring 5 runs (4 earned) in 6.1 IP earlier this year.

The season series between the Dinos and Eagles is 2-3 in Hanwha’s favor. It would make a lot of sense for the Dinos to even up the season series here. Neither pitching option has been dominant, but these two teams are inconsistent to rely on anyways so beware.

Park Se-woong and Lee Min-ho will be going head to head for Lotte and LG respectively. They both have 5 wins on the year, but Se-woong’s done better ERA-wise. With that being said, LG’s offense has been more impressive so I’ll roll with them.

Both pitchers in the Samsung and Kiwoom game are strong in Albert Suarez and Tyler Eppler. Suarez pitched very well against the Heroes on April 9th, allowing 2 runs (1 earned) in 7 IP. Eppler on the other hand allowed 3 runs in just 5.1 on April 10th.

Top KBO Betting Picks to Target for 6/2/2022

Doosan Bears to Win-139
SSG Landers to Win-117
Samsung Lions vs. Kiwoom Heroes Under 7-122

These will be my 3 best KBO betting picks for Thursday’s games.

Although Doosan hasn’t been playing the best as of late and Kia has, I still think Doosan should have a high chance of winning this game. Im Gi-yeong will be taking the mound for the Tigers, who’s 4.32 ERA implies he’s not untouchable.

Choi Won-joon’s 2.43 ERA this year has been much better, plus he’s done very well against Kia once already this season. Doosan’s offense has been heating up, so a strong starting pitcher on the mound should give them a good chance of winning.

I also love the odds for the Landers to win on Thursday as well. You could even take their -1.5 (+193) run line if you’re looking for some serious value. Lee Tae-yang already did well against KT earlier this season, while Odrisamer Despaigne did not do well against SSG.

Both games have been 2-1 victories for each team so far, but the pitching matchup heavily favors the Landers. An under bet makes sense here as well.

Speaking of unders, the Lions and Heroes game could go under on Thursday. Albert Suarez on the mound is the main reason why the Lions are favored to win, but Tyler Eppler is a strong pitcher as well.

I prefer Samsung to win, but Eppler doesn’t have bad outings very often. He could improve this time around and Suarez can keep doing what he’s doing. These two pitchers make for a case for the under every time they take the mound and they’ll both be on it for Thursday.
