Picks and Predictions for KBO Games – Thursday, April 28th, 2022

Welcome back to our KBO picks for Thursday’s games. This will be the final game of the 3 game series between each of the 10 teams in the KBO. This season is moving right along, as we are just one series away from each team playing each other at least once.

That will be when teams start to pull apart from the others. You never know who you’re going to be matched up with in the playoffs, so playing them in the regular season is a great way to find out their weaknesses.

Not much changed in the standings after yesterday, as the SSG Landers reign continues over the rest of the KBO in 2022. Let’s take a look at the KBO odds for Thursday’s games to see which teams will try and close the gap.

Here are the KBO odds for each game on Thursday. Every single game is set at 7.5 for the run total, while the Tigers, Heroes, Twins, Bears, and Giants are favored to win.

The Landers don’t find themselves as underdogs hardly ever, so we will see if the Giants are worthy of being the favorite for that game. SSG does not have plus odds as an underdog though, as the books don’t want to bet against them too much.

Both the LG Twins and Kiwoom Heroes beat their opponents 7-0 yesterday and are favored to win again on Thursday. Samsung and Hanwha will try and prevent that from happening, but it’s not going to be easy.

The heaviest favorite of the day is going to be the Doosan Bears. They are taking on the last place NC Dinos (6-16), who they beat yesterday 6-5.

Here are my KBO predictions for who I think wins each game on Thursday.

For starters, I have the Wiz taking care of Kia at home with Bae Je-seong on the mound. Je-seong has been shaky this year overall, but he’s been much better in his home starts. He pitched 12.1 innings at home, allowing just 2 earned runs. He’s pitched 9.1 innings on the road, allowing a much worse 10 earned runs.

The Kiwoom and Hanwha game should be interesting, with Tyler Eppler (Kiwoom) and Jang Min-je (Hanwha) taking the mound. Min-je made his first start of the season in his last game after spending most of the season in the bullpen.

The Lions had a great pitching advantage in their last game against LG and still lost 7-0. They’ve struggled to get back into their 2021 form, so LG can take advantage of that again on Thursday.

Talking about a team with struggles, how about the NC Dinos? The Bears should be in a perfect position to get another win, while NC is stuck at the bottom of the standings.

The reason why Lotte is favored over the mighty Landers is because their ace is on the mound. Charlie Barnes has been untouchable in 2022, having a dazzling ERA of 0.54 in 33.1 innings pitched.

That brings us to our 3 best KBO betting picks for Thursday.

The Wiz underdog moneyline (EVEN) looks to have great value, but their spread should have some more safety. Like I said earlier about Bae Je-seong, he’s been great at home this season. The starting pitcher that will oppose him is Im Gi-yeong, who is making his first start in 2022.

That could mean the Tigers are unreliable to bet on and Gi-yeong’s career ERA is an unimpressive 5.05. The Wiz should at least keep it close, but go ahead and take their moneyline if you think they pull off the upset.

Lastly, the pitching matchup in the Landers and Giants game should make for a great under bet. Charlie Barnes has been incredible in 2022 and should be able to shut down the Landers’ offense.

Noh Kyung-eun is enjoying a great start to his 2022 campaign as well, having a great 1.29 ERA in his first 21 innings pitched.
