Picks and Predictions for KBO Games – Sunday, May 29th, 2022
Welcome back to our KBO picks for Sunday this week. We are heading into the final day of the week for KBO betting, so let’s try and go out on a high note. The teams in the league will be thinking the same thing, so it could be an interesting slate.
It’s the 3rd game of the series for all 5 matchups. The Kiwoom Heroes are rocking a mean 5 game winning streak and have pulled within 5 games of the first place SSG Landers.
Let’s take a look at the KBO betting odds for Sunday’s game to see which teams are projected to win or lose.
KBO Odds for Sunday, May 29th, 2022
- SSG Landers (-105) vs. Kia Tigers (-125), O/U 9
- Kiwoom Heroes (+187) vs. Lotte Giants (-227), O/U 7.5
- Samsung Lions (+103) vs. LG Twins (-133), O/U 8
- Doosan Bears (-117) vs. NC Dinos (-113), O/U 10
- Hanwha Eagles (+135) vs. KT Wiz (-165), O/U 8.5
We knew coming into SSG Landers and Kia Tigers series that it was going to be close. SSG took Game 1 easily (8-1), while the Tigers struck back in Game 2 (9-3). The last game of the series doesn’t have an underdog in positive odds, while the Tigers are slightly favored to win.
Kiwoom has been rolling and are 8-2 in their last 10 games and are on a league-best 5 game winning streak. They are underdogs yet again, but they’ve been able to win the past few games as underdogs too.
There’s also not an underdog with positive odds in the Doosan and NC game. They’ve split the series this week, so things could go either way.
Despite the Eagles winning the first two games of the series against the Wiz, KT is favored to win Game 3.

KBO Predictions for Sunday’s Games
- Kia Tigers Over SSG Landers
- Lotte Giants Over Kiwoom Heroes
- Samsung Lions Over LG Twins
- Doosan Bears Over NC Dinos
- Hanwha Eagles Over KT Wiz
In what should be a very competitive game, I have the Kia Tigers beating out the Landers. Both of the starting pitchers for this game have been solid, but not the best. With that being said, I will be rolling with the hottest and best offense in the league in the Tigers.
Winning and losing streaks aren’t something you always want to rely on. Baseball is a very difficult sport to win each game, even if you’re the better team. That’s why for a good amount of these games, my KBO predictions include some streaks being snapped.
Kiwoom’s 5 game winning streak and Lotte’s 5 game losing streak have serious snap potential for Sunday. The reason for that is Lotte’s ace, Charlie Barnes. Barnes has a 2.19 ERA this year and already beat the Heroes once this year (5 IP, 1 ER).
Samsung is another team on a 5 game skid, who also can get back in the winner’s column. Hwang Dong-jae (2.91 ERA) takes the mound for the Lions, while Kim Yun-sik (5.26 ERA) will oppose for LG.
Gwak Been’s 1-5 record isn’t pretty, but his ERA isn’t terrible at 3.89. It’s much better than Shin Min-hyeok’s 5.65 ERA, which should give Doosan the edge of NC on Sunday.
Hanwha could have a chance at a sweep here over the reigning champs. Kim Min-woo has been on a roll recently and had a solid game against KT earlier this year as well.
Top KBO Betting Picks to Target for 5/29/2022
Here are my 3 best KBO betting picks for Sunday’s games. This should be an interesting slate given it’s the third game of the series, so I went with run total picks instead of moneylines.
SSG and Kia should have a chance to hit the over in this game. They’ve scored 9 and 12 runs in their first two games and neither pitcher is exactly lights out. Oh Won-seok has a 3.99 ERA, while Han Seung-hyuk is at 3.83.
Kia is averaging 7.0 runs per game in their last 10 games, so there’s a chance they can score basically 9 runs themselves. SSG is averaging 5.4 in that span, so they can get a couple themselves as well.
10 total runs seems a bit high for the projected state of this game. They scored a combined 7 and 5 runs in the first two games of their series.
Doosan’s pitcher Gwak Been hasn’t allowed more than 2 runs in 6 of his 8 starts this year. Shin Min-hyeok 5.65 ERA doesn’t look good, but he’s gone 6 innings in 3 straight games and allowed 3 runs or less in all of them.
KT’s good pitching and terrible offense is always a recipe for the under. Um Sang-back has a solid 3.83 ERA and they’re scoring a league-worst 3.2 runs per game in their last 10. Kim Min-woo has also turned it up in his last two games, pitching 6 and 7 innings and allowing just 2 combined earned runs.
