Picks and Predictions for KBO Games – Sunday, May 22nd, 2022
We have one more day of KBO on the schedule this week before there’s an off day on Monday. Let’s see if we can head into the break on a high note by making the correct KBO picks. There are a lot of interesting games on tap, which can make things interesting from a betting perspective.
The Kiwoom Heroes have been taking advantage of the lesser Hanwha Eagles in their first two games of the series. They’ll be looking for a series sweep on Sunday after jumping to third place in the standings.
The SSG Landers and LG Twins are the only two teams above them and are playing each other. They’ve split their season 1-1 and the Landers are still holding onto first place by 3 games.
Let’s take a look at the KBO betting odds for Sunday’s action.
KBO Odds for Sunday, May 22nd, 2022
- Hanwha Eagles (+180) vs. Kiwoom Heroes (-240), O/U 8.5
- KT Wiz (-135) vs. Samsung Lions (+105), O/U 8.5
- LG Twins (-165) vs. SSG Landers (+125), O/U 8.5
- Lotte Giants (-135) vs. Doosan Bears (+105), O/U 7.5
- NC Dinos (+125) vs. Kia Tigers (-165), O/U 8.5
Here are the KBO odds for each game on Sunday from Bovada.
Kiwoom took the first two games of the series against Hanwha, so it’s not a surprise to see them favored to win again. In fact, they are the heaviest favorite of any game on Sunday. They’re tied for a league-best 7-3 in their last 10 games, which is a huge reason why they’ve been able to surge up the standings.
The KT Wiz have been able to quiet the Samsung Lions, who were the hottest team in baseball for a couple weeks. KT has won both of the first two games of the series, earning them favored odds to complete the sweep.
Game 3 should be very interesting with the Twins favored to win this one.
Doosan rocked Lotte yesterday and won 12-4, evening up their series to a game apiece. Even though Doosan is in 4th and Lotte is in seventh, a Giants win would put them ahead in the standings.
Kia was upset by NC yesterday, but are favored to bounce back on Sunday. The Tigers are scoring a league-best 5.8 runs per game in their last 10, but are allowing 4.8 runs per game (8th) in that span as well.
KBO Predictions for Sunday’s Games
- Kiwoom Heroes Over Hanwha Eagles
- KT Wiz Over Samsung Lions
- LG Twins Over SSG Landers
- Doosan Bears Over Lotte Giants
- Kia Tigers Over NC Dinos
These will be my KBO predictions for who wins Sunday’s games.
The Kiwoom Heroes have been able to take care of business in the first two games of the series against Hanwha and should have a strong chance of getting the sweep. Choi Won-tae has a stellar 2.38 ERA, while Lee Min-woo’s 5.03 ERA is unappealing.
Odrisamer Despaigne takes the mound for the Wiz on Sunday with a solid 2.89 ERA. He will be opposed by Samsung’s Baek Jung-hyun, who has a 5.71 ERA and 0-4 record this year. That should give the Wiz the advantage and they’ve held Samsung to just 3 runs combined in their first two games.
Nova had his best start of the year against LG earlier this year, but he’s given up 3+ runs in all of his 3 home starts this year.
Both pitchers for the Lotte and Doosan game are unspectacular, so I’ll take the better bullpen in Doosan to hold off the Giants in the later innings.
Finally, I’ll take the Tigers to get back in the winner’s column after yesterday’s upset loss. They have scored the most runs out of any team in the KBO this season and have a solid pitcher on the mound as well.
Top KBO Betting Picks to Target for 5/22/2022
I will be placing these 3 KBO betting picks for Sunday’s games. Hopefully we can head into an off day on Monday with a winning slate.
We have been able to hit on the under 8.5 for two days in a row. It’s been working recently so why not try it again? Both teams aren’t scoring a ton recently and have decent pitching as well. I’m not excited about Baek Jung-hyun for Samsung, but their bullpen has been decent enough.
The game totals for the first two games were 6 and 7. Samsung hasn’t scored more than 2 runs in either game, while KT scored 5 in each.
I’ll be heading in another direction for the Lotte and Doosan game and will be taking the over. The run line is also set at 7.5 for this one, so that could help us out even more. Yesterday’s game had a total of 16 runs, so hopefully some of that transfers into this game.
Glenn Sparkman will be going for Lotte and has a terrible 5.88 ERA so far this season. Lee Young-ha has been better, but not much better at a 4.95 ERA. Young-ha was just shelled by the Landers too, giving up 8 runs (3 earned) and couldn’t even get past the second inning.
Kia could use yesterday’s upset as motivation for Sunday. They have a great pitching matchup with Lee Eui-lee (2.93 ERA) taking on Song Myung-gi (4.20 ERA). The Tigers already faced Myung-gi once this season, scoring 3 runs in 4.1 innings.
