Picks and Predictions for KBO Games – Saturday, April 30th, 2022

We are heading into the weekend with a great slate of KBO picks for Saturday. Yesterday was the series opener between the 10 teams and our predictions went well. Let’s try and have another successful day, with 5 more games on tap.

The SSG Landers won again yesterday against the Doosan Bears, improving their record to 18-5-1 on the year. Doosan was in second place a few days ago, but dropped to 4th after yesterday’s loss.

Lotte defeated LG yesterday as well, pushing them up to 2nd with LG in 3rd. These games will be crucial as these top teams will be looking to earn the first spot in the standings.

Let’s take a look at the KBO odds for each of the games on Saturday.

We have two games that have underdogs in negative odds territory. That means that these games could be dangerously close, but very entertaining.

Those games include the Samsung Lions taking on the Kia Tigers and the KT Wiz taking on the Kiwoom Heroes. As I stated earlier, the games including the Bears vs. Landers and Giants vs. Twins will be very close as well.

The Landers are favored in most of the games they play, so it isn’t a surprise to see them there again. They bested Doosan yesterday in a high scoring nailbiter 8-7. SSG will be looking to continue their domination of the 2022 KBO season, while the Bears will be looking to prove themselves as a worthy opponent.

The Wiz are slightly favored to beat the Heroes, but Kiwoom is still in negative territory. That game should be another close one, adding to an already impressive list.

Lastly, we have an even matchup between Hanwha and NC. NC is favored to win, but both teams have been inconsistent this year and are equally unreliable.

For my KBO predictions today, I am rolling with these 5 teams to come out on top.

Firstly, Samsung has struggled in 2022 and could do so again against Kia. Kia gets home field advantage and were winning 2-1 before falling apart in the 8th and 9th innings on Friday. They’ll look to try and seal the deal this time around, with Han Seung-hyuk on the mound.

I like the Doosan vs. SSG game as well. The Landers are very tough to bet against, but Gwak Been is on the mound for the Bears. He’s pitched at least 5 innings in all four of his 2022 starts, allowing 2 runs or less in all of them.

The Wiz should have a significant starting pitching advantage with Ko Young-pyo on the mound. Young-pyo has a stellar 1.93 ERA in 2022, while Jeong Chan-heon is struggling at 5.79.

Next, I prefer Lotte over the Twins. The Giants have oddly been great on the road (8-3), while the Twins struggle at home (3-7). It’s odd to see something that’s usually the opposite, but could be the reason why Lotte can beat the Twins two games in a row.

Lastly, the Dinos have home field advantage over the Eagles. Hanwha was ahead of NC by a couple of games on NC recently, but their inconsistencies showed up again. These teams are tied for last, while the Eagles are just 2-10 on the road.

The good thing about these games being close is that the odds come at discount prices. For my best KBO betting picks for Saturday, I have two moneylines and one run line.

Speaking of Doosan, I think their spread looks like a safe target for tonight. You can take an extra risk for better odds with their moneyline, but SSG is a tough team to beat.

Gwak Been has been consistent and reliable, while Oh Won-seok hasn’t been as much in 2022. If that trend continues, Doosan should at least keep it within one run on Saturday.

One of the best pitching advantages tonight is for the KT Wiz. Ko Young-pyo has a 1.93 in 28 innings across 4 starts in 2022. He pitches deep into games (average of 7 IP per game) and has just one earned run allowed in his last 14 innings pitched.
Jeong Chan-heon’s 5.79 ERA in 2022 and career 4.75 ERA aren’t too threatening. That could lead to a nice win for their reigning champs on Saturday.
