Picks and Predictions for KBO Games – Friday, June 3rd, 2022

| June 2, 2022 1:51 pm PDT

Our KBO picks are back for another day, as we head into the weekend. Hopefully we can nail a good amount of our predictions for Friday so we can have an enjoyable weekend.

Most of the games on Thursday were decided by one run. The LG vs. Lotte series has been incredibly tough to predict considering how evenly matched up they were, so it seems fitting that they would tie 2-2 in a series deciding game.

The Landers had the upper hand over KT going into the game and it was tied 1-1 after 5 innings. From there, the Wiz’s offense blasted off for 13 runs in the remaining innings. It was pretty odd to see, but that’s baseball sometimes.

Hopefully we can get back on the right track with a brand new series starting on Friday. Let’s check out the KBO betting odds for each series opener.

KBO Odds for Friday, June 3rd, 2022

  • Kia Tigers (-139) vs. KT Wiz (+109), O/U 8
  • Lotte Giants (-124) vs. NC Dinos (-106), O/U 7.5
  • Doosan Bears (-116) vs. Samsung Lions (-114), O/U 9.5
  • SSG Landers (+137) vs. LG Twins (-167), O/U 8
  • Kiwoom Heroes (-203) vs. Hanwha Eagles (+163), O/U 9.5

The KT Wiz and Kia Tigers will be facing off for 3 games this weekend, which should be an interesting series. KT is a very low-scoring team, but are great at pitching. Kia is a very high-scoring team, but are not so good at pitching.

This is going to be a battle between defense and offense, which makes for a very interesting series.

Lotte and NC have two incredible pitchers on the mound for the first game of their series. Lotte’s 2-7-1 record in their last 10 games is the worst in the KBO. NC’s been the lesser of the two teams this season overall though.

Samsung and Doosan’s series comes at a perfect time. They are in 5th and 6th place in the standings and are both 10.5 games out of first place. They’ll be looking to jump ahead of each other over their next 3 games.

The Landers’ offense has scored 4 runs in their last 3 games. They are still in first place, but LG’s going to want to take advantage of their struggles in this series.

Kiwoom has won 8 of their last 9 games and gets the next 3 against the struggling Eagles.

KBO Predictions for Friday’s Games

  • KT Wiz Over Kia Tigers
  • NC Dinos Over Lotte Giants
  • Doosan Bears Over Samsung Lions
  • LG Twins Over SSG Landers
  • Kiwoom Heroes Over Hanwha Eagles

Here are my KBO predictions for Friday’s winners. There should be a good amount of close calls and series openers are always a bit different.

Hopefully the Wiz’s 14-run outburst on Thursday can carry over into their next series. They’re taking on the best offensive team in the league in the Kia Tigers. Kia’s run prevention is not good, which might get the best of them here.

Bae Je-seong has looked great against Kia this season (14 IP, 3 earned runs) in two starts. Lee On the other hand, Eui-lee gave up 8 runs (4 earned) against KT on May 11th.

Two amazing pitchers are going head to head in the Lotte vs. NC game. Charlie Barnes (2.34 ERA) and Koo Chang-mo (1.74 ERA in 2021) will be taking the mound. That will make this one tough to predict, as Chang-mo is only making his second start of the season.

Lotte’s bullpen has been miserable as of late, while NC’s has been the opposite. That gives the Dinos the edge in the later innings, so it’s just a matter of run support.

Heo Yun-dong is also making his second start of the season, but he’s nowhere near Chang-mo. That should give the Bears a better chance of winning this one.

2 Ivan Nova’s best starts of the season came against LG, but he’s been very inconsistent other than that. LG might be able to get some more runs off him this time with the reliable Casey Kelly on the mound.

Choi Won-tae (2.40 ERA) should be able to give Kiwoom a good chance of beating Hanwha as well.

Top KBO Betting Picks to Target for 6/3/2022

KT Wiz +1.5-150
Lotte Giants vs. NC Dinos Under 7.5-110
Doosan Bears to Win-116

These are going to be my 3 best KBO betting picks for Friday’s slate.

The Wiz might have a chance at an upset, (+109 ML) but their run line has a better chance of hitting. Bae Je-seong dominated the Tigers the last time he faced them (8 IP, 0 ER, 10 Ks). He had another start before that this season against Kia and pitched 6 innings and allowed 3 runs.

If he has another strong outing, the Wiz should be able to hang with Kia in this one. If Thursday’s 14 runs were a sign of an offensive turnaround for KT, they should be in a good spot on Friday.

Charlie Barnes and Koo Chang-mo going head to head should make a strong case for the under. Barnes has an incredible 2.34 ERA this season and dominated NC once already this season.

He pitched 7.2 innings and allowed just 1 run.

Even though it’s Koo Chang-mo’s second start of the season, he should still be able to put in a good performance. His first start of the season was great, shutting out Doosan in 5.1 innings. He might even pitch a little more in this one.

NC’s bullpen has a stellar 2.70 ERA in their last 10 games. That combined with Barnes and Chang-mo on the mound should mean a very low-scoring game.

Doosan has a good chance of winning Game 1 against Samsung. Heo Yun-dong is taking the mound and is just 20 years old. He hasn’t impressed so far in his young KBO career, so the Bears can grab the lead.
