KBO Predictions and Analysis – Friday, October 23, 2020
Thursday’s three KBO games brought us over 50 runs combined which sums up how insane the day was. I won’t be shocked to see more of the same in the upcoming round of South Korean baseball.
I share my KBO predictions for Friday and the post includes analysis on all fixtures on October 23. There are no betting picks or odds includes because the top online sportsbooks are yet to release their lines.
And here are all games included in my KBO predictions.
- LG Twins vs. KIA Tigers
- Lotte Giants vs. SK Wyverns
- NC Dinos vs. Hanwha Eagles
- Kiwoom Heroes vs. Doosan Bears
LG Twins to Beat KIA Tigers
We have a clear trend regarding the KBO teams from the middle of the table that don’t have a chance to progress to the playoffs. Their motivation seems to be completely gone and they lose game after game.
It’s hard to expect anything different in the meeting between the Twins and the Tigers. LG’s good recent form has helped the team climb the rankings and several more victories should be enough for the second seed in the postseason.
The Twins looked strong both offensively and defensively, while the Tigers are simply waiting for the season to finish. If you add the better starting pitcher, I feel obliged to back LG in my KBO predictions for Friday.
Lotte Giants to Beat SK Wyverns
The Wyverns already beat the same opponent twice this week, but at least the second game on Thursday was competitive until the end. The Giants should be able to bounce back in the third clash of the series.
They are expected to start one of their best pitchers, while the Wyverns are sending a guy with abysmal stats. And yet, SK’s offense has been tormenting the opposition so far and we might see another wild shootout.
I prefer to back the Giants because of Dan Straily and his performance in 2020, but this one could be close.
NC Dinos to Beat Hanwha Eagles
The best team in the league plays the worst which is usually enough to back the favorite. The Dinos are also projected to unleash a significantly stronger starting pitcher than the Eagles, so there’s little reason to expect any surprises on Friday.
And yet, both sides have nothing to play for which could lead to some complications. I still expect a victory for the NC Dinos, but the Eagles might put up a fight.
Doosan Bears to Beat Kiwoom Heroes
The Doosan Bears suffered one of the most shocking collapses in the KBO this season on Thursday. The reigning champions were leading against KT Wiz Suwon before allowing 16 runs between the sixth and the eighth inning.
It was a humiliating defeat and I would normally expect the team to lose again so soon after it happened. The problem is that the Bears are starting one of the best pitchers in the country against the Heroes. Kiwoom’s guy is solid as well, but Raul Alcantara has led Doosan to 16 victories from 18 starts, so I prefer to trust him once again in my KBO predictions for Friday.
