KBO Predictions and Best Bets (Round 124) – Friday, September 25, 2020

Most KBO games recently have been tight and the trend continued in the previous round of the leading South Korea baseball league. The same series return on Friday, so the losing teams will have the chance to bounce back right away.

I share my thoughts on their chances in this KBO predictions post. It covers every game scheduled for September 25 and you can find a section with my best bets in the end. It will be empty initially, but I will add my picks as soon as the lines are up.

The KIA Tigers surprised me in game one of the series and beat the high-flying KT Wiz. The 5-3 score suggests that the clash was tight, but I don’t think that’s the case. Suwon allowed too many opportunities and probably should’ve conceded more runs.

The pitching should improve in the second fixture because KT Wiz will be able to rely on one of the best pitchers in the league. The team has a huge advantage in that department which should be enough to win on Friday.

The opening game between those two was insane and shows that the NC Dinos are on another level right now, at least mentally. The KBO leaders were 7-1 down at the start of the seventh inning and you would expect most teams to surrender at this point.

The Dinos responded by scoring 11 runs over by the end of the game and stunned the Twins who simply couldn’t do anything.

I believe that all the momentum is with NC after that comeback, so another win on Friday makes a lot of sense.

I thought that the Eagles could surprise their opponents in the opener and that’s exactly what happened. The underdog took an early lead and the Giants leveled the score in the sixth. You would normally expect a turnaround at this point, but the Eagles kept their composure to win after a strong showing in the eight.

That’s four wins the past five games now and you rarely see that from the side. I’m afraid the good run is going to end on Friday, though. The Eagles are expected to rely on one of their worst pitchers and I don’t think they could make up for that.

The opening game of the series went pretty much as expected and the Kiwoom Heroes got an easy victory over the SK Wyverns. Looking at the projected pitchers for the second clash on Friday, I honestly don’t see how anything could change.

The favorite is sending a solid starter and he is likely to receive a lot of support from the offense, especially considering SK’s choice. It should be a one-sided game and I almost feel obliged to back the Heroes in my KBO predictions for Friday.

I’m not sure how the Bears won the opening game of the series. Their offense struggled throughout the whole clash and registered only one hit that was enough for one run. The reigning champions were lucky that the Lions didn’t score at all despite their six hits.

While the win should boost Doosan’s confidence, I’m far from convinced by the side’s form right now. The Lions are expected to start the better pitcher in game two on Friday and that gives me enough of a reason to back them to win.
