KBO Predictions and Analysis – Tuesday, June 1 (2021)
The next round of South Korean baseball is scheduled for June 1 as the best teams in the country come back after a day of rest.
I explore the latest team news and the form of each side before sharing my KBO predictions for the next round. The goal is to help those of you who are interested in KBO betting for real cash.
Here’s a list of all fixtures I cover.
- Kia Tigers vs. Hanwha Eagles
- KT Wiz Suwon vs. LG Twins
- Lotte Giants vs. Kiwoom Heroes
- Doosan Bears vs. NC Dinos
- Samsung Lions vs. SSG Landers
Kia Tigers to Beat Hanwha Eagles
It looks like the Tigers and the Eagles are out of the playoff picture already. The gap to the top 5 in the KBO standings is not that big, but both sides have looked mediocre both offensively and defensively.
Still, a good run might turn their season around. Beating opponents from the bottom of the table is the easiest way to achieve that, so the upcoming series offers a good opportunity for both sides.
The Tigers definitely have the upper hand based on the team news because they are expected to send Aaron Brooks, one of their stronger pitchers.
He should be able to keep the Eagles at bay, while Hanwha’s starter is not very reliable. Yun Dae-Kyung already faced the same opponent and got demolished earlier this year.
I prefer the Tigers in this one and they should be able to open the duel with a victory on Tuesday.
KT Wiz Suwon to Beat LG Twins
Both sides have had their good and bad moments since the start of the season. They are currently in a good position to qualify for the playoffs and a strong run against fellow contenders would be very valuable.
I like KT Wuz’s chances better in this one because the team is more complex and has a better offense compared to the one-dimensional Twins.
The Twins are expected to start Lee Sang-Yung for the first time and Suwon’s certainly can take full advantage of any error. The team has the upper hand in terms of the starting pitchers and that’s enough for me to pick KT Wiz for my KBO predictions.
Kiwoom Heroes to Beat Lotte Giants
The Kiwoom Heroes slowed down significantly last week, but the team has an excellent opportunity to start a new winning run at the start of this one.
With the Lotte Giants having lost six in a row, it’s hard to find any reason to believe that the team could bounce back on Tuesday.
Sure, Lotte’s expected to start the slightly better pitcher, but the bullpen is very unreliable and the offense has been inconsistent. The Heroes should be able to win this one.
NC Dinos to Beat Doosan Bears
The two organizations that met in the last year KBO Final Series have disappointed in 2021 so far. They have identical records that are enough for a joint-fifth spot in the table.
On the bright side, both the Dinos and the Bears are within a touching distance of the teams above them.
I expect a very close opening game and both sides are projected to use reliable starting pitchers. I think that the champions have been slightly better recently and should be able to get the nod in this one, but it won’t be easy.
SSG Landers to Beat Samsung Lions
The SSG Landers are crushing everyone right now and have won nine of their last KBO games. The team is leading the standings as a result and a strong run this week could cement this position.
This opening game versus the Lions won’t be easy, but SSG’s efficiency has been admirable lately. The defense is doing well even against the top sides in the country, while the offense always manages to deliver a solid number of runs.
I expect something similar on Tuesday and while both sides have decent starting pitchers, the Landers simply have too much momentum at this point.
