KBO Predictions and Analysis for Wednesday, August 25 (2021)

We had three full games in the previous round of South Korean baseball action, and the weather forecasts for Wednesday are even more positive. We should either have a full round of five fixtures or at least four.

I share my KBO predictions for all games that are supposed to go through on August 25, just in case. Here’s the complete list.

The Kiwoom Heroes returned to winning ways in the previous round and are once again in a great position to close the gap to the teams above them in the KBO table.

The squad will face the last-placed Hanwha Eagles next. Both sides are expected to send pitchers that are yet to record a victory in the league.

Both are unreliable, so we might see plenty of runs in this game, and the question is which team can punish the opposition.

A quick look at the stats shows that the Heroes are the squad with the most runs scored in the entire league, while the Eagles are among the worst sides in South Korean baseball when it comes to offense.

That’s enough for me to back the Kiwoom Heroes in my KBO predictions for Wednesday.

Both the Giants and the Tigers have been better since the KBO returned after the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

The team news for Wednesday’s encounter suggests that it might be a tight one. Choi Yeong-hwan has been great in August for the Giants, while Daniel Mendgen is one of Kia’s better pitchers.

And yet, the Korean is more reliable at the moment, and Lotte’s recent form has been impressive. I believe that the Giants should be able to win this clash, and that’s my final prediction.

The two teams that face each other for the title in 2020’s Korean Series are in a tough spot this season. The Bears are outside of the playoff spots right now, while the Dinos are barely fifth.

The upcoming games could be crucial for the final standings, and the team news for the clash on Wednesday clearly shows how important the victory is for both sides.

Two of the best pitchers in the entire league are going to start the encounter. Choi Won-joon will face Drew Rucinski in an epic battle. The Korean has a better record, but his opponent’s individual stats are comparable.

This one could go either way, but the Dinos have been slightly stronger recently, and that gives me enough of a reason to back them.

Next in line is the clash between KT Wiz Suwon and SSG Landers. The starting pitchers of both sides have been decent but unspectacular this year, so that doesn’t tell us much about the potential winner of this game.

That’s not the case with the head-to-head record in 2021 that shows a 5-2 advantage for KT Wiz Suwon.

Another important factor is the recent form of both sides. The Landers have struggled in the past two weeks, and that’s another reason to back KT Wiz in my KBO predictions for August 25.

This is the toughest game to predict on Wednesday, and it could easily go either. Both teams will use exceptional pitchers in Baek Jung-hyun (10-4; 2.17 ERA) and Andrew Suarez (8-2; 2.48 ERA).

They can certainly keep the opposition quiet, and I don’t think any side has the advantage in this aspect. We have to try and split them based on other factors.

The Twins certainly have the stronger bullpen, but the Lions have been exceptional in the past ten days, and their offense is way better. That’s enough for me to back them in Wednesday’s clash.
