KBO Predictions and Analysis – Tuesday, July 6 (2021)
The weather has been a big problem for the best South Korean baseball league lately. We’ve seen a bunch of games postponed because of rain and this week is likely going to be similar.
At least three Tuesday fixtures are questionable, but it looks like they might go through. That’s why I decided to share my KBO predictions for July 6 for all encounters on the schedule, even if some of them are postponed eventually.
Here’s a full list of the games I’ve included in this post.
- Kia Tigers vs. Hanwha Eagles
- KT Wiz Suwon vs. Samsung Lions
- LG Twins vs. Lotte Giants
- NC Dinos vs. Doosan Bears
- SSG Landers vs. Kiwoom Heroes
Kia Tigers to Beat Hanwha Eagles
The two worst sides in the countries meet each other and the game should be hard to predict, at least in theory.
Two main factors make the difference here and are behind my decision to back the Tigers in this one. Kia’s recent run of three straight victories shows that the team has found some momentum.
On top of that, the Tigers have a 4-1 record against the Eagles so far this season. It looks like they have their number and that’s why I prefer picking them for Tuesday’s game.
Samsung Lions to Beat KT Wiz Suwon
Every good run comes to an end and I believe that Suwon is finally going to lose a game after nine straight victories in the KBO.
The team is about to face the Samsung Lions who have been dominant in the H2H department with five wins and only one defeat against KT Wiz.
Although the league leaders are expected to send one of their best pitchers in Ko Young-Pyo, he was destroyed by the Lions in his only clash against the same opponent.
Samsung’s pitcher has been shaky for most of the season, too, but his recent performances have been decent. It’s going to be close and I think that the Lions can snatch the victory.
LG Twins to Beat Lotte Giants
The LG Twins have dominated the Lotte Giants so far and I see no reason for a change on Tuesday. The favorites enter the game in decent shape and with a solid starting pitcher.
They have the much stronger bullpen, too, so I don’t think that the Giants will have many chances to score on Tuesday.
Their defense is also the worst in the entire league, so they can’t really rely on their pitching for the win here. That’s why backing the Twins is the sensible choice in my KBO predictions for July 6.
NC Dinos to Beat Doosan Bears
I think this might be the toughest game to predict for the upcoming round of KBO action, mostly because of the motivation and the team news.
Both sides are expected to send some of their best starting pitchers in Drew Rucinski (Dinos) and Choi Won-Joon (Bears). They have 15 victories combined and I don’t think we’ll see many runs in this one.
I feel like the Dinos are stronger late in their games and this one should be decided when the bullpens enter the field, so I prefer the reigning champions here.
SSG Landers to Beat Kiwoom Heroes
Both sides had their struggles at the end of last week and need to regain some momentum. The Landers have a 6-3 lead in the H2H history this season and they have the better starting pitcher, too.
Wilmer Font has been solid since his arrival in South Korean baseball and should be able to keep the opposition quiet for most of the game.
I’m not sure you could expect the same from An Woo-Jin. Despite his decent overall stats, the pitcher was destroyed by the Landers earlier in the season and another defeat might be on the cards.
