KBO Predictions and Analysis – Thursday, May 6 (2021)
The previous round of South Korean baseball games brought us a ton of runs and some dramatic encounters. The teams return for another clash against the same opposition on Thursday, and I share my KBO predictions for all fixtures.
Predictions are based on the latest team news and the form of all squads in the league. I’ve also added some stats for the starting pitchers that could be helpful for KBO gambling purposes.
Here are all games covered in my KBO predictions for May 6.
- Kia Tigers vs. Lotte Giants
- KT Wiz Suwon vs. Kiwoom Heroes
- LG Twins vs. Doosan Bears
- SSG Landers vs. NC Dinos
- Samsung Lions vs. Hanwha Eagles
Kia Tigers to Beat Lotte Giants
The Kia Tigers started the first game against Lotte with a bang, scoring five runs in the opening inning. They kept their lead for the rest of the clash, despite some scary momenta later on, and earned a precious victory.
The offense will have to face rookie Lee Eui-Lee who has been excellent so far and has a 2.42 ERA and 25 strikeouts in just more than 22 innings.
The youngster has been impressive, and the Tigers have a stronger offense, so I’m backing them to win in my KBO predictions for Thursday.
KT Wiz Suwon to Beat Kiwoom Heroes
I was very surprised by the opening game between these two. The Kiwoom Heroes were unstoppable offensively and completely shut down the opposition for a 14-0 victory.
It was by far the team’s best performance so far, and it brings hope for the future. And yet, I’m not sure that the Heroes would be able to register another win in the next encounter.
KT Wiz is a strong squad that will be eager to bounce back immediately. Suwon’s next starting pitcher Ko Young-Pyo already has three wins this season and solid stats, while the Heroes will have to rely on a shaky opener.
KT Wiz Suwon should be on top, and I prefer them, but the Heroes have a lot of momentum, so it should be a close game.
Doosan Bears to Beat LG Twins
The Twins offense finally showed up to score seven runs and win the opening game against the Bears. That should lift the team spirit for the second clash, but Doosan is expected to start Ariel Miranda.
The Cuban has four wins from four starts and has been among the best pitchers in the league. On the other hand, the Twins are sending one of the few guys that might be better, at least if you judge by the stats.
I’m still not convinced by LG’s offense, despite the good signs on Wednesday, so I prefer to back the Bears in my KBO predictions for Thursday.
SSG Landers to Beat NC Dinos
The opening clash between the Landers and the Dinos was probably the most exciting KBO game since the start of the season. The reigning champions had plenty of good moments, but their defense couldn’t hold, and the Landers eventually won by 13-12.
The Dinos have managed to win immediately after a dramatic defeat a few times already this season, but I’m not sure they could do the same on Thursday.
SSG’s confidence is very high right now, and the team is expected to start a stronger pitcher. The second clash should be close again, but I believe that the Landers have the upper hand.
Samsung Lions to Beat Hanwha Eagles
I thought that the Eagles could surprise the Lions in the previous round, and it looked like that might be the case after the first seven innings. Hanwha’s defense kept the opposition at bay, but the bullpen lost the clash.
The Lions scored four to turn it around and never looked back. The team is on top of the standings for a good reason, and I expect more of the same on Thursday.
Both sides can rely on strong starting pitchers, but Samsung’s superior offense and bullpen should make the difference.
