KBO Predictions and Analysis – Thursday, May 20 (2021)

I don’t remember the last time all South Korean baseball games featured at least 10 runs, and that’s exactly what happened in the previous round. It was a wild day, and it’s interesting to see if this trend can continue on Thursday.

I share my KBO predictions for all fixtures on May 20, and I’ve added additional info on team news and the latest form of each side to help you understand my thought process.

Before I go further, you should know that the latest forecasts suggest that it might rain and some of the encounters could be postponed.

Here’s a full list of games included in my KBO predictions for Thursday.

I expected a win for the Eagles in my KBO predictions for the previous round, and they delivered. Lotte’s defense is pathetic right now, and I don’t think it will get any better in the upcoming clash.

The Giants are expected to start a pitcher with an ERA of almost 6.00, and their bullpen rarely gets the job done. The Eagles should be able to score almost at will on Thursday, while their own starter has been fairly decent so far in 2021.

Kim Min-Woo has four wins from six starts in the KBO and solid stats. He should be able to contain the opposition in this one, so I prefer to back the Eagles.

The second game between the Twins and the Dinos required an extra-inning for a winner to be determined. LG’s strong defense held the forth, and the team scored once, which was enough for a second victory in a row against the reigning KBO champions.

It’s Jeong Chan-Heon’s turn in the rotation, and he has a 1.85 ERA after four starts. You can add to that LG’s exceptional bullpen.

On the other hand, the Dinos will have to rely on a guy with a 7.74 ERA, and their offense has been below-part so far in the series. They are always dangerous, of course, but the Twins are the reasonable pick.

KT Wiz Suwon has been the best KBO team alongside the Heroes this week, and another win against the Bears on Wednesday confirmed that.

Yet, it was a tight affair, and Doosan’s ability to recover after such defeats could be on display in the next game. Both sides are sending respectable pitchers here, and their offensive power is comparable.

I believe this is the toughest game to predict for the upcoming round, but I trust the Bears in this one, barely.

The Kia Tigers are in a complete freefall right now, and I’m not sure if they have what it takes to end it on Thursday. The team’s starting pitcher for the next round has two defeats in his only two games so far and terrible stats.

The favorite also has the stronger bullpen and the more prolific offense, so I almost feel obliged to pick the SSG Landers in my KBO predictions for Thursday.

The Kiwoom Heroes have dominated the Samsung Lions, and their two defeats in a row have resulted in a drop in the standings.

I’m not sure what happened with Kiwoom’s offense, but it has looked unstoppable recently. Still, David Buchanan might have something to say about this.

The American has been among the top pitchers in the league, so he might be able to stop the rot against the Heroes. The big question here is his teammates on the offensive end can deliver.

I think it’s time for them to show up after two quiet games, so I’m backing the Lions. And yet, this one is tricky, so I urge you to be careful.
