KBO Predictions and Analysis – Thursday, June 3 (2021)

Some of the teams in South Korean baseball have hit a slump this week, and it’s interesting if they can recover before things get out of hand.

I share my expectations for the next round of fixtures in my KBO predictions for Thursday, June 3. As usual, I also added some stats, team news, and an overview of each team’s form.

Here are all games covered in my KBO predictions—the bad news is that the weather forecasts suggest some of them might be postponed.

The two teams split the first two games after the Tigers won the second clash on Wednesday. I’m sure that both sides will be eager to come out with another victory on Thursday, and it should be close.

I still believe that the Eagles should have the upper hand because they have the stronger offense, and it’s Ryan Carpenter’s turn in the rotation.

Since the beginning of the campaign, the pitcher has had excellent stats, unlike Kia’s projected choice Im Gi-Yeong who’s been very inconsistent in 2021.

It’s always tough to predict what will happen in games between struggling teams, but there are better arguments to pick the Eagles in this one.

The second clash between these two was excellent, and the Twins barely edged it. I was surprised by their offense that delivered six runs against a strong opponent like KT Wiz.

The third game of the series should be entertaining as well.

The usually reliable Casey Kelly has been below his high standards in 2021, while Odrisamer Despaigne has been excellent for KT Wiz.

Suwon’s offense is better too, so I prefer going against the Twins in my KBO predictions for Thursday.

I’ve picked the Kiwoom Heroes twice against the Lotte Giants, and they failed me both times. Obviously, the team is on a slump, but I suspect they might be doing it to annoy me.

Lotte has all the momentum going into the third game and is expected to start Dan Straily, who’s been excellent since the start of the season. He has great stats, but fellow American Eric Jokisch has been solid too.

Both pitchers should do well, but Kiwoom’s bullpen and offense have been abysmal lately, and that’s why I prefer backing the Giants.

The NC Dinos delivered a masterful performance to beat the Bears in the previous round, but I’m not sure they will be able to do the same on Thursday.

Doosan’s projected starter is Choi Won-Joon, who has five wins from the same number of stars, including a victory against the same opponent without allowing a single run earlier this season.

The advantage of the Bears in terms of starting pitchers is simply too big to ignore, and I’m siding with them.

The Landers finally lost, and it took a dramatic 8-7 victory to break them. The Lions did really well in the previous round, and the result certainly boosted their confidence.

Another reason to be optimistic is the return of David Buchanan. The American pitcher has five KBO wins this season already, and one of them came against the Landers earlier.

His stats are much better than Oh Won-Seok, who’s starting for SSG and the offense looked awesome in the previous clash.

I see enough to back the Lions in my KBO predictions for Thursday, but I would be careful because the Landers are still very dangerous.
