KBO Predictions and Analysis – Thursday, June 24 (2021)
Most of the underdogs totally shattered the expectations on Wednesday and beat their opponents in the South Korean elite baseball division.
The league looks as close as ever, and delivering accurate KBO predictions is a huge challenge. I will keep going for the rest of the regular season, though, so it’s time to look at the following games scheduled for Thursday, June 24.
- Hanwha Eagles vs. Samsung Lions
- Kia Tigers vs. KT Wiz Suwon
- LG Twins vs. SSG Landers
- NC Dinos vs. Lotte Giants
- Kiwoom Heroes vs. NC Dinos
Samsung Lions to Beat Hanwha Eagles
The Samsung Lions beat the Hanwha Eagles twice already this week, and it’s hard to see how something would change for the next game.
The favorite is sending Won Tae-In from the start, and he’s been one of the best pitchers in the country. The talented youngster has eight victories already, and his stats are great.
Even if Hanwha’s starter Nick Kingham delivers a good performance, the bullpen is expected to struggle against the Lions. That’s why I prefer picking them in my KBO predictions for Thursday.
KT Wiz Suwon to Beat Kia Tigers
I’m not sure how the Kia Tigers limited one of the best teams in the KBO to only two runs in the previous game, but they deserve a ton of credit for their performance.
And yet, I don’t think we could expect more of the same in the next clash. KT Wiz Suwon is expected to start a solid pitcher, and the team will be eager to bounce back after the surprising loss in the previous round.
The extra motivation and the favorable starting lineups give me enough reasons to back KT Wiz Suwon on Thursday.
LG Twins to Beat SSG Landers
The Twins won on Tuesday, while the Landers returned to grab a victory on Wednesday after a shaky start.
Andrew Suarez is next for the Twins, and he rarely loses this season. The star has seven wins in nine starts on some of the best stats you would find in the KBO.
He can easily shut down any side in the country, so that’s bad news for the Landers. On the bright side, their own pick is Wilmer Font, who’s been solid for most of the campaign.
This should be a tight clash, but I think this suits the Twins better, and they should be able to win it.
NC Dinos to Beat Lotte Giants
How did the NC Dinos concede 13 runs against the Lotte Giants on Wednesday? I’m baffled by this performance and the lack of consistency in this team.
The reigning champions were phenomenal in their ability to win games against opponents from the bottom half of the table last year, and that hasn’t been the case in 2021.
You never know what to expect from the Dinos, and that’s true for the next encounter as well. Both sides are sending comparable pitchers, while NC’s offense is much stronger.
That’s enough for me to back the favorite, but I’m not too confident after what I saw in the previous round.
Doosan Bears to Beat Kiwoom Heroes
The second clash between the Heroes and the Bears was really close, ending up with a 4-3 victory in favor of Kiwoom after a single deciding run in the ninth inning.
Ariel Miranda led Doosan to six victories already in 2021, while his opponent An Woo-Jin has been on the receiving end of seven defeats so far.
And yet, the stats of Kiwoom’s starter are not that bad, and he was often let down by his teammates. I still think the Bears should win, though, because they have the stronger offense too.
