KBO Predictions and Analysis – Thursday, April 29 (2021)

The previous round of South Korean baseball games brought us plenty of late twists and turns. I’m sure the teams that lost dramatically are eager to come back to the field and find revenge against the same opposition on Thursday.

I explore their chances to bounce back in my KBO predictions for April 29. The post features my analysis and team news of every fixture on the schedule.

After a close-opening game that the Tigers barely won, the team was much better on Wednesday and limited the opposition to zero runs. I don’t think that Kia’s starter for the next clash can do the same, and the offense has been inconsistent.

That should open the door for the Eagles that are expected to send one of their best starting pitchers in Ryan Carpenter, who has been excellent up to this point of the KBO season.

Still, I expect a stronger performance by the Eagles in the first six innings or so, which should be enough for a victory.

KT Wiz Suwon was leading in the second game of the series when the opposition scored four unanswered runs in the seventh inning to turn it around. The bullpen then held Suwon’s offense, and that was enough for the Landers to win.

I believe that the team has the momentum after this victory, and the expected start of Park Jong-Hun won’t hurt either. The pitcher won both of his games so far, recording a respectable 2.50 ERA in the process.

The overall impression is that the Landers should have the upper hand on Thursday, so I prefer backing them in my KBO predictions.

The second game between the Twins and the Giants was very tight, just as I expected, but it was Lotte that came on top. The team’s defense was excellent, and the batters found just enough runs to stay ahead of the Twins.

That should boost the squad’s confidence, but I believe that the Twins will bounce back in the next clash. Andrew Suarez can lead them to another victory after recording three wins in his first four starts of the season.

If you add the solid bullpen, I don’t see how the Giants would score more than a run or two in this one. At the same time, Enderson Franco has struggled to keep the opponents quiet, so the Twins should have enough opportunities to score.

I’m sure that the NC Dinos are angry after the dramatic defeat against the Lions on Wednesday. The reigning KBO champions had a 1-0 lead heading into the eighth inning, but they allowed four runs.

They scored two of their own in the ninth and pushed really hard. It wasn’t enough, as the Lions weathered the storm to record another victory, and they now sit on top of the table.

Both sides are projected to start decent pitchers, but I’m backing the Dinos in my KBO predictions because I expect them to channel their frustration in a positive direction on Thursday.

It took all eleven innings to determine a winner between these two in the second clash of the series. The Heroes kept their composure in the extra innings to bring the victory home, but it was an extremely close fight.

The Bears went ahead early on and thought the job was done, but Kiwoom showed character to come back. The signs that the Heroes have ended the slump are obvious, and the two victories over the Bears prove that.

Still, the squad is far from perfect, and the opposition will be using Choi Won-Joon on Thursday. The pitcher has two wins already and excellent stats, so the Bears should win at least the final match from the series.
