KBO Predictions and Analysis – Saturday, May 29 (2021)
One game was postponed because of the bad weather conditions in the previous KBO round, but the forecasts suggest that everything should be back to normal for the next batch of fixtures scheduled for Saturday.
I share my KBO predictions for all of them in this post, adding my analysis and the latest team news. Here’s a list of all the games that are supposed to take place on May 29.
- KT Wiz Suwon vs. Kia Tigers
- NC Dinos vs. Lotte Giants
- Doosan Bears vs. Samsung Lions
- SSG Landers vs. Hanwha Eagles
- Kiwoom Heroes vs. LG Twins
KT Wiz Suwon to Beat Kia Tigers
The Kia Tigers continue to surprise after a stunning comeback in the first clash of the series against Suwon. The game was quiet up to the 8th eighth inning when KT Wiz scored five runs to take a solid lead, but the opponents responded with four of their own to force extra innings and kept their composure to win.
Km Yu-Sin is next in Kia’s rotation, and he was demolished by the same opponent earlier in the season.
At the same time, KT Wiz is sending Odrisamer Despaigne, who has a 1.66 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP across eight games since the start of the campaign. The guy has been a monster so far, and that’s enough for me to back KT Wiz in my KBO predictions for Saturday.
Lotte Giants to Beat NC Dinos
The first clash between the Dinos and the Giants fell through because of the weather, and they are now expected to meet twice on Saturday.
I will include only the first clash in my KBO predictions because there are too many question marks for the second one.
I believe that the Giants can win the early game because of their advantage in the starting pitchers.
Dan Straily is one of their best players in this position, and he should be able to contain the Dinos for the most part. The reigning champions are likely to struggle defensively, too, because their choice is Song Myung-Gi how has been shaky in 2021.
It might be close, but I feel that the underdog could snatch the victory in this one.
Doosan Bears to Beat Samsung Lions
I expected a close game between these two in the previous round, but Doosan’s offense turned up big time to demolish the opposition.
The Bears have all the momentum after winning by 9-4, and they should be able to find plenty of runs on Saturday too.
The Bears are better offensively, which should be the key in the second game of the series.
SSG Landers to Beat Hanwha Eagles
The SSG Landers look scary nowadays, and they deservedly sit on top of the KBO standings after winning a bunch of games recently. The team’s confidence is off the charts, and that’s bad news for the Eagles.
They were stomped on Friday, and the next clash might be similar. The Landers have the advantage of starting pitchers, and their offense is on a completely different level right now.
Saturday should bring another victory for the favorites, and I have no other choice but to back them when it comes to my KBO predictions.
Kiwoom Heroes to Beat LG Twins
When LG’s defense plays well, the team wins, and we saw that clearly in the opening victory against the Heroes. The Twins allowed only one run and completely suffocated the opposition.
And yet, their offense was far from convincing, which should be a problem in the second clash. LG’s starting pitcher for this game is unlikely to keep the opposition at bay, so I prefer to pick the Heroes.
They have been far from their best recently, but they will be sending an unbeaten pitcher, and they have an excellent opportunity to end their losing run.
