KBO Predictions and Analysis – Saturday, August 14 (2021)

The first week of South Korean baseball after the Olympics has been dynamic, and we still have two more rounds scheduled for the weekend.

This post is focused on Saturday’s games, and I share my KBO predictions for all of them. The weather should be fine, too, according to the latest information, so the following five fixtures will most likely go through, and you will have the chance to chance to bet on South Korean baseball.

The Kia Tigers continued their strong run in the previous round, while the SSG Landers find themselves in a tough spot. If the team doesn’t improve soon, the gap to the KBO playoff spots might become impossible to overcome.

The Tigers once again have the advantage when it comes to the starting pitchers, thanks to Lee Eui-lee, who has decent stats and four victories from seven starts.

He can certainly keep the struggling Landers at bay, while SSG’s pick is a guy who has been mostly inconsistent in 2021.

All things considered, it feels like the Tigers should once again have the upper hand, and I prefer them in my KBO predictions for Saturday.

I expected a win from the Giants on Friday, and the team delivered a strong defensive performance to snatch the victory.

That says a lot about the Twins offense that has been shaky all season long. Failing to score against a team that has been leaking runs left and right doesn’t bode well.

The lack of balance is obvious, but LG’s defense has been strong enough to keep the team in the top spots of the standings. The problems come when the Twins can’t rely on their best pitchers, and that’s going to be the case on Saturday.

I don’t like Lotte’s starter either, so it might be close, but I usually prefer to go against the Twins in such circumstances.

The NC Dinos won two in the row in the last couple of days, and that’s a positive sign. The reigning champions still look far off their best days, but the goal, for now, is to somehow reach the KBO postseason.

Hanwha’s pick for a pitcher is Jang Si-hwan, who has eight defeats from the same number of starts in 2021. Sending him against one of the most powerful offenses in South Korean baseball is hardly ideal.

The Eagles should have chances to score on their own, but the Dinos should punish them way more.

The Doosan Bears delivered one of their best performances of the season against the Heroes on Friday, scoring 16 runs to demolish the opposition.

Their confidence will be sky-high after such a dominant victory, and they are expected to send one of the best starting pitchers on Saturday.

Ariel Miranda has been among the top performers in South Korean baseball, and he has eight wins so far in 2021. He can limit the opposition, and the flying offense should do the rest.

KT Wiz Suwon earned a precious and dramatic victory on Friday that could be pivotal for the top spot fight in the league. The team was trailing for most of the clash before scoring five runs in the seventh inning.

That was enough for a comeback win, and KT Wiz should have the mental edge on Saturday as a result.

On top of that, Suwon’s starting pitcher is better. William Cuevas has been shaky this year but still more reliable than Samsung’s Choi Chae-heung.

I see more reasons to back KT Wiz Suwon, and yet, I’m not entirely convinced by the team’s form lately. I would be careful with this one from a betting perspective.
