KBO Predictions and Analysis – Friday, June 4 (2021)

Unfortunately, the weather forecasts were right, and four of the KBO games in the previous round got postponed because of rain. South Korean baseball should return on Friday, though, and the early signs suggest that there won’t be any problems.

I cover all games on the schedule in my KBO predictions for June 4 with analysis and key info. Here’s a full list of fixtures for the upcoming round.

Let’s start my KBO predictions for Friday with a surprise that might help those of you looking for South Korean baseball betting opportunities on underdogs.

If you check the standings, you would probably favor the LG Twins to win this match, but I’m not so sure. This is arguably the most one-dimensional team in the league, heavily depending on a strong performance by the defense to win games. I’m not sure that the Twins can rely on that on Friday because they are expected to start one of their worst pitchers in Lee Min-Ho. The guy has a 3-3 record on a 5.45 ERA, so I don’t expect much.

Even a struggling team like the Tigers should be able to find some runs against him, and that might be enough. I’m obviously not super confident in Kia’s victory, but a surprise here looks like a good call.

The Giants had a good start to the week after recording two wins and one defeat in the series against the Heroes. The problem is that they are about to face a much stronger and way more consistent opponent next.

Odrisamer Despaigne has been great this season, and he should be able to contain the Giants, while Lotte’s pick Park Se-Woon had both good and bad moments up to this point.

I see no reason to go against the favorites here, so I’m backing KT Wiz to win on Friday.

The SSG Landers have been very strong recently, and their good run in May was enough to climb to the top of the KBO standings. Going against them is rarely the best choice, but I believe this is one of the few exceptions.

Doosan’s offense has been potent recently, and it’s Choi Won-Joon’s turn in the rotation. The pitcher is yet to lose a game this season, and he already beat the Landers once.

He’s noticeable better than SSG’s starter, so it looks like the Bears should be in pole position to win the opening clash on Friday.

My track record of predicting games involving the Heroes has been atrocious lately, but this team is just so inconsistent.

After watching the worst of the squad in the first two rounds this week, the Heroes won with a bang yesterday, and their offense looked good again.

Han Hyun-Hee is next in the rotation, and he has five wins in a row in 2021, but David Buchanan is taking over for the Lions.

The American is the better pitcher, and he has the stronger offense behind his back, so I prefer Samsung in this one. Which probably means that the Heroes will win.

This one might be tricky because both sides are sending some of their best pitchers, but I think it’s time for the Dinos to start climbing the KBO rankings.

The reigning champions are currently outside of the playoffs spots, and they have no excuse to stay there for long.

A bit of consistency is all that the team needs, and the series against the Eagles represent an excellent opportunity to start a winning run.
