KBO Predictions and Analysis – Friday, April 30 (2021)

The leading South Korean baseball league continues to be unpredictable. Two teams that finished in the bottom half of the table in 2020, currently sit in the top 3, and the reigning champions NC Dinos are only sixth after more than 20 games.

It’s a massacre, and everything is possible when it comes to betting on the KBO. I have prepared another post to analyze the next round of games in my KBO predictions for Friday, April 30.

Here’s the complete list of fixtures included.

The Lotte Giants had a very tough series against the Twins and lost two of the games, but they did manage to win one as well. The team looked decent defensively, and I expect more of the same against the Eagles, especially since Park Se-Woong is projected to start.

The pitcher had plenty of good moments in his first three KBO games this season, winning two of them. He should be able to keep Hanwha’s mediocre offense quiet for most of the time, and we already saw that Lotte’s bullpen is solid.

On the other hand, the Eagles are expected to rely on Kim Yi-Hwan, who struggled last year and didn’t look much better at the start of the current campaign. The Giants should be able to punish the youngster, so I prefer backing them.

Since the start of the KBO season and in the last ten games, the two teams have identical records. They also are starting decent pitchers, so picking a winner in this one looks tough on the surface.

And yet, I believe that KT Wiz Suwon has been the better team so far. Both the offense and defense of the squad have been stronger than the Tigers, so I think that KT Wiz should have the advantage in the upcoming series.

I expect at least two wins in favor of Suwon, including a victory in the opening game on Friday.

When the top two teams in any sporting league meet, the expectations are for a tight battle that’s hard to predict. I’m not sure that will be the case in game one of the series between Samsung and LG, though.

The Twins are the team with the least runs scored, and they rely almost entirely on their defense to win. I don’t think that would work when you start a pitcher with a 21.21 ERA, which is exactly what Im Chan-Kyu has registered this season.

The Lions should have a lot of fun in the opener, and I’m backing them in my KBO predictions for April 30.

Both sides have been very inconsistent in their performance so far, especially the Bears. They look like a team that can beat anyone but also lose against the weakest opponents in the league.

Doosan’s defense has been better than expected, though, and new pitcher Ariel Miranda has contributed with three excellent starts, all of which resulted in a victory.

I think he can get the better of SSG’s projected starter Wilmer Font, and the Bears have the stronger offense too, so I’m going for a Doosan win on Friday.

I expected an angry version of the Dinos in the previous round after a bad run of form, and that’s exactly what we saw.

The Dinos face the struggling Heroes next, which presents an excellent opportunity to catch up with the leaders.

The Heroes have been below par up to this point, and I think they won’t be able to stop a team like the Dinos.
