Picks and Predictions for the KBO Games on Thursday, April 14th, 2022

Two of the five KBO games sadly had to be canceled, but we should be back in action for Thursday. The other three games were won by the Samsung Lions, Kiwoom Heroes, and the SSG Landers.

The Landers were able to make it to double digit wins right out of the gate for the 2022 KBO season. They have been incredible and their streak just keeps on going and going. SSG will be taking on the LG Twins on Thursday again, who are still holding on for second place in the KBO (7-3).

There’s a decent balance of run totals on Thursday’s slate of games. We have 3 games with a run total of 8.5 and two games with just 6.5. That means we could see a mix of high and low scoring games for today’s slate, so that could be something to take a look at for our betting sheets.

The SSG Landers are favored to win again over the LG Twins, but they aren’t the heaviest favorite of the day despite having a perfect record. That would go to the Samsung Lions, who will be taking on the 2-8 Hanwha Eagles.

Doosan is favored to win even more than the Landers are, which is a bit of a surprise when you see their opponent for the day. That would be none other than the reigning champs in the KT Wiz. The Wiz have struggled to find their footing in the 2022 season, starting 2-7 in their first 9 games.

These are my overall predictions for who I think comes out on top of each KBO game. I only like one team to pull off the upset and that’s the Lotte Giants.

Lotte is going up against the Kia Tigers, with both teams at 4-5 coming into this game. Yesterday their game was rained out and the Tigers won their first meeting on Tuesday 6-5. Both pitchers are pretty respectable in this game, so I expect it to be tight heading into the late innings.

The Giants’ have been hitting to a higher team batting average than the Tigers this year, so that could give them the edge as the game winds down.

The Wiz have been struggling mightily this year and can’t seem to get it going. I’ll stay away from them until they can prove that they are the same team that won the championship last year.

The Landers have proved that they might be the No. 1 team this year after a dominating 10-0 start to the season. It’ll be another close game, but they have yet to lose in 2022.

The NC Dinos are tied with Hanwha for the worst record in the league at 2-8. Kiwoom can take advantage of that tonight and try to get to 7-4 on the year.

My first under bet is going to be in the Korean Series rematch game between the Doosan Bears and the KT Wiz.

My other under pick is going to be in the Lotte and Kia game. Park Se-woong will be going for Lotte, while Yang Hyeon-jong will be going for Kia. The latter has yet to allow a run in 12 total innings this year, while the former has been respectable this year as well (2.92 ERA).

If the Lions can beat the Eagles by 11 runs, they can beat them by 2 runs in this game. Buchanan has a 2.08 ERA in his first two starts and a 3.23 ERA in his 3 year KBO career.
