Who Wins Between Katie Taylor vs. Natasha Jonas?
- Katie Taylor by Decision
In 2012, Taylor fought off a tough Jonas en route to making history as the first woman to win an Olympic gold medal.
My predictions for Taylor vs. Jonas this Saturday will gear towards another win for the Bray woman against her rival from Liverpool. If you’re unsure whether to bet on Taylor or not, stick with me, and I will explain what you need to know about gambling on this fight.
A good place to pick things back up is the odds for Katie Taylor’s next fight.
Latest Odds for Katie Taylor vs. Natasha Jonas
Katie Taylor’s odds to beat Natasha Jonas come in at -625 with BetUS.
Taylor is a firm favorite to pick up the 18th straight win of her career, and the bookies are not looking past her. The former soccer player last fought to a win over Spain’s Miriam Gutiérrez in August 2020 but will be facing a tougher test on Saturday night.
Jonas failed in her first attempt to win a world title.
The Scouser fell short of taking Terri Harper’s WBC and IBO female super-featherweight titles in August 2020 but fought her heart out to a split draw. A sizeable underdog, Jonas will be moving up to lightweight for the first time in her professional career against The Ring magazine’s pound-for-pound number 1.

Best Bets for Taylor vs. Jonas
I don’t see a lot of value in betting on Taylor’s moneyline odds.
Instead, it should pay to be a bit smarter when betting on this bout. Thus, Taylor vs. Jonas props is the way forward, starting with the fight to end over 8.5 rounds.
The odds aren’t magnificent by any means, but they are surely a lot better than backing Taylor to win. You also have the additional benefit of winning your bet if, somehow, Jonas wins. Or if the champ is injured or cannot continue after this part of the fight.
The fight to go a decision is another decent shout. I don’t see either woman having the stopping power to end this fight inside the distance.
Finally, the top bet to place on Katie Taylor vs. Natasha Jonas is a win for Taylor by decision.
Why Katie Taylor Beats Natasha Jonas
Jonas is an accomplished fighter with a lot to offer inside the ropes.
Unfortunately for Jonas, Katie Taylor is Katie Taylor. A pound-for-pound number one female boxer with better fundamentals as well as a more refined resume. Taylor is clearly the better boxer of the two, which was evident in their amateur bout in London back in 2012.

Jonas’s best chance of winning this fight is by knocking Taylor out. It’s not impossible but highly improbable that the Liverpudlian can ring the Irish woman’s bell. She’s not going to outbox the undisputed champ at 130, and any close fight is almost certain to go Taylor’s way’s on the cards.
With all things considered, it’s hard to go against my initial pick for Taylor vs. Jonas. I’m expecting a unanimous decision for “The Bray Bomber.”
