Juventus vs. Napoli Betting – Serie A, October 4, 2020

Betting on the Italian Serie A continues over the weekend with plenty of interesting markets to choose from. Matchday 3 brings some marquee matchups, including Sunday’s showdown at Allianz Stadium in Turin, where the reigning champs Juventus host Napoli.
The 2020-21 Serie A season has just started, so it’s still early for high stakes. However, these two teams don’t like each other at all, and the Blues always have a huge motive when they face off against Juve.
We’ll see some entertaining soccer on Sunday afternoon, so here’s my best Juventus vs. Napoli betting pick.
Juventus vs. Napoli Odds
The Old Lady is always a heavy fave when playing at home, but this time, there are some tempting odds on Juve to win. The hosts are nine-time defending champions, while Napoli has finished second four times in that span.
Juventus has won six of its last seven home matchups with Napoli along with one loss.
Juventus vs. Napoli Preview
After a convincing 3-0 home victory over Sampdoria in the opening week, the reigning champs drew at AS Roma 2-2 last weekend. They trailed 2-1 and played with ten men after Adrien Rabiot was sent off in the 62nd minute, but Cristiano Ronaldo scored his second goal of the game to make it 2-2.
It was a tough road matchup for Juventus, and they took just six shots towards Roma’s goalie while surrendering seven in return. Still, earning a point with ten men on the field is always a success.
On the other side, Napoli is perfect after the first two rounds while posting an 8:0 goal difference. The Blues opened with a 2-0 victory at Parma, while they dismantled Genoa 6-0 at home in the previous round.
Napoli broke the deadlock after just 10 minutes of play in the first half, and the Blues netted five more times in the second, as five different guys found the net. They put on a show while allowing Genoa to take only three shots towards Alex Meret.
The Blues will miss forward Lorenzo Insigne (muscle) and midfielder Piotr Zielinski (COVID-19) this weekend. Juventus is without center-back Matthijs de Ligt (shoulder), full-back Alex Sandro (hamstring), and winger Federico Bernardeschi (muscle), so both teams will miss some important players.
Juventus vs. Napoli Pick
The Blues haven’t conceded yet, but the clash against the Old Lady will tell us how good they really are. Keeping the net intact against Parma and Genoa was a completely different task, and the Blues’ defense could easily struggle in this one.
The previous duel between these two foes in Turin was a proper firecracker with seven goals in total. Juventus won it 4-3, and the Old Lady scored two or more goals in four of its last five home meetings with the Blues.
I don’t expect to see seven goals this Sunday, but both teams scored in the previous four Serie A head-to-head duels, and each one produced three or more goals in total.
Therefore, I’m backing Juventus to score at least two goals in this one. On paper, the hosts are a better team, and I expect them to prove it on the field. They might need to score twice to grab a win, as the Blues are certainly capable of finding the net.
