Juventus vs. Dynamo Kiev Betting Preview – Champions League, December 2, 2020

Juventus will be looking to bounce back from Saturday’s below-par draw with Benevento when Dynamo Kiev visits Turin on Wednesday, December 2.

Andrea Pirlo’s team has already booked their place in the last 16 of the Champions League, while the Ukrainian side is eight points behind in Group G.

The leading online sportsbooks view Juventus (1.25) as the clear frontrunner to claim all three points on Wednesday, with Dynamo Kiev (12.00) the rank outsider.

The Old Lady secured a relatively comfortable 2-0 victory over Dynamo on Matchday 1. The bookies are obviously expecting a similar result this time around.

Juventus kicked off their Champions League campaign with a routine win in Kiev, but the Bianconeri was beaten 2-0 by Barcelona on Matchday 2. However, back-to-back victories over Ferenacvaros have seen the Italians book their place in the knockout stages.

Pirlo’s men were made to work extremely hard to beat the Hungarian minnows last week. They went behind in the first half before Cristiano Ronaldo equalized, although the win wasn’t secured until Alvaro Morata scored in second-half stoppage time.

Morata now has eight goals and three assists in 11 outings this term, while Ronaldo has bagged nine goals and one assist in just seven appearances. It goes without saying that the two forwards are among Europe’s most in-form players right now.

Juve is still unbeaten in Serie A this season, although the team has recorded five draws. The Bianconeri was held by newly-promoted Benevento last time out, leaving the club six points behind league-leader AC Milan.

Having been drawn in a group alongside Juventus and Barcelona, it was always going to be difficult Dynamo Kiev to make their mark on the Champions League in 2020/21. That said, head coach Mircea Lucescu will have been hoping for more than one point heading into the penultimate group game.

The Ukrainians managed to claim a draw against fellow struggler Ferencvaros on Matchday 2. But following successive defeats to Barcelona, a third-place finish is the best the club can hope for now.

Lucescu’s men will be disappointed that they haven’t been able to carry their domestic form onto the European stage. Dynamo has only lost one of their 11 league matches this season, conceding just seven goals along the way.

It is now a straight shootout between Dynamo and Ferencvaros to decide who will drop down into the Europa League. The Ukrainian side will be desperate to get something from Wednesday’s clash, but that won’t be easy.

Despite only managing to pick up one point this season, Dynamo Kiev has proved to be a tough opponent in the Champions League. Still, it goes without saying that Lucescu’s side is miles behind the top teams in the competition.

I’m expecting the Ukrainians to put up a decent fight on Wednesday, but let’s be honest, anything other than a Juventus win would be a huge shock here.
