Juan Francisco Estrada vs. Chocolatito Gonzalez 2 Odds, Prediction, and Best Bets (March 13, 2021)

| March 8, 2021 12:27 pm PDT

I would bet on Juan Francisco Estrada vs. Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez going down as one of the best boxing matches of 2021.

Estrada and Gonzalez are two of the top fighters in the world right now. As such, hardcore boxing fans are counting down the hours to the big fight at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, this Saturday, March 13.

A rematch almost a decade in the making, the winner of this awesome matchup will leave the squared circle with the WBA (Super), WBC, and The Ring super flyweight titles.

Estrada’s odds to beat Gonzalez make him a minor favorite, but there is a little discussion around the Estrada vs. Chocolatito odds to be had. I’ll get to that, as well as a little more on the best bets, betting tips, and my pick for the fight a little later.

Before we touch upon any of the above, allow me to reveal my Gonzalez vs. Chocolatito prediction.

Estrada vs. Chocolatito 2 – Who Wins?

  • Juan Francisco Estrada by KO/TKO

Although I am a huge fan of both fighters, my pick for Estrada vs. Gonzalez 2 has been made.

I am predicting a knockout for Estrada.

I’ll get to why my ultimate Estrada vs. Chocolatito rematch prediction is a stoppage for the Mexican after we have looked over the odds and best bets for the fight.

Latest Odds for Estrada vs. Chocolatito 2

Juan Francisco Estrada-165
Roman Chocolatito Gonzalez+135

Estrada’s odds to beat Gonzalez make him a slight favorite with BetUs.

The Mexican enters his third fight in a row as the favorite, having closed at -833 against Carlos Cuadras in his only fight in 2020 and a whopping -5000 against Dewayne Beamon the year before.

Chocolatito’s odds to beat Estrada are tempting at +135.

The former pound-for-pound number one will attract a lot of action ahead of Saturday’s fight, especially as the dog.

This fight is a tough one to call. But before you consider any predictions and make your betting pick for Estrada vs. Gonzalez 2, keep reading for my best bets and betting tips for the fight.

Best Bets for Estrada vs. Chocolatito 2

  • Estrada to Win (-165)
  • Fight to End Under 10.5 Rounds (+255)
  • Estrada to Win by KO/TKO (+333)

If you’re betting on the Estrada vs. Gonzalez rematch, I recommend looking at the three wagers above.

Estrada to beat Chocolatito is a solid bet at those odds. He has more pathways to victory, including the advantages in power, age, and reach, and is likely to have just that little bit more to him on the night.

Still, I don’t believe that this fight will go the distance.

I can see Estrada winning by stoppage, and the odds are very appealing for this prospect. Similarly, Gonzalez’s best chance of winning this fight is to win by KO/TKO.

Chocolatito has been knocked out before, but no one has stopped Estrada, so that would be an achievement in itself.

Still, if you believe this one is destined to end inside the distance, consider my betting tip for Estrada vs. Chocolatito to end under 10.5 rounds for a sweet payout. For this bet, odds of +255 payout if either man scores the stoppage.

It didn’t happen the first time around, but don’t count against it this time.

Why Estrada Beats Gonzalez

Chocolatito is one hell of a competitor and is still capable of great things.

However, I think he has been caught in one too many wars over the years. At 33, he might not be a pensioner, but he is far too stuck in his ways to change how he fights.

The WBA (Super) super flyweight titlist can be hit. A major reason why Estrada will find success comes from Gonzalez’s positioning in the pocket — he will look to sit there and exploit any openings in his opponent’s arsenal. But if he doesn’t get his way early, he will grow frustrated and make mistakes.

Estrada will throw with Gonzalez, but don’t expect him to play into his hands.

Chocolatito is extremely dangerous on the inside but will be giving up size, reach, and power advantages.

Estrada knows this, and the chances are that he will fight behind his jab and look to keep the Nicaraguan moving back, thus preventing him from gaining leverage at close range.

I can see the (slight) betting favorite triumphing in this one by being the busier and smarter fighter.

My pick for Estrada vs. Gonzalez 2 is a knockout win for Estrada in the 7th round.

Final Thoughts for Betting on Estrada vs. Chocolatito

Saturday’s super flyweight showdown should make for an excellent fight.

But ultimately, my Estrada vs. Gonzalez rematch betting pick goes the way of the Mexican. He has more routes to victory than Chocolatito, and I think we’ll see the full extent of his talents on the night.

That’s not to say that Gonzalez cannot win. He clearly has an opportunity here to silence his critics, but I believe the size difference will play a big part in the fight.

Now, this is one of the best matches to bet on in March, but it’s not the only one. Some excellent scraps are coming up this month in both the boxing and UFC realms.
