Jono Carroll vs. Andy Vences – June 19, 2021

| June 16, 2021 7:47 am PDT

I’ve put together this preview for anyone looking to bet on Jono Carroll vs. Andy Vences this Saturday, June 19.

Ireland’s Carroll faces Vences for the vacant WBC International super-featherweight crown in a fight that so many are sleeping on.

The scrap goes down on the undercard of the upcoming Triller show at LoanDepot Park in Miami, Florida. The card is headlined, of course, by an exciting lightweight title bout between Teofimo Lopez and George Kambosos Jr.

Stick with me for my predictions and pick for Carroll vs. Vences, as well as few betting tips that will help you on your way.

This betting preview also contains the latest odds for Carroll vs. Vences, the top bets to target, and a little insight to tie things together.

Let’s start with who wins the fight and work our way down.

Carroll or Vences – Who Wins?

Jono Carroll-189
Andy Vences+137

Carroll’s odds to beat Vences are -189 with the best online boxing betting apps and sites.

The Dubliner retired Romic Airapetean in Malaga in March but will face a stiffer test against the American this Saturday.

Vences’ odds to beat Carroll are more attractive at +137, but the Californian has lost two of his last three bouts and will be there for the taking in the eyes of the Irishman.

I think the odds are near to what I was expecting. Vences is slightly better value than the +110 I would have priced him at, given that he is fighting in the States.

With that said, Jason Quigley’s win over Shane Mosley Jr. last month proved that Irish fighters can get the nod from judges in the States, even in tight fights.

Let’s move on to the best bets for the fight.

Best Bets for Carroll vs. Vences

Jono Carroll to Win-189
Jono Carroll to Win by Decision-145

My predictions and betting pick for Carroll vs. Vences all result in a win for “King Kong.”

But when it comes to the top bets for the fight, my betting tips for Carroll vs. Vences are to target the win for the Dubliner and back him for the decision for a little extra profit.

I wouldn’t completely rule out this one ending in a draw, but I believe that Carroll has the edge. Here’s why.

Why Carroll Beats Vences

This is another 50/50 fight that will more than likely come down to the finest of margins.

In terms of attributes, Carroll is the faster man with the better output and engine. His speed and lateral movement will more than likely dictate the fight’s pace in the early rounds, although he does need to be careful with his expenditure of energy as this one will more than likely go the distance.

Vences has a nice jab and works well with it. But I don’t think he will get much of a chance to build off it unless he can drag Carroll into the trenches where he will be much more hittable.

I don’t see that happening at all. Carroll’s movement and counters will win him this fight but don’t bank on a clear-cut win for the Irishman.

One last tip. If you’re betting on Carroll vs. Vences going the distance, avoid wagering on a unanimous decision and instead look for a market that allows you to gamble on just the decision.
