Jaguars vs. Raiders Pick for the NFL Hall of Fame Game (2022)

| August 1, 2022 6:13 am PDT

Rejoice football fans! There is an NFL game this week featuring the Jacksonville Jaguars and Las Vegas Raiders. We’re still a month from the regular season, but the 2022 Hall of Fame Game kicks off the NFL action.

More importantly, it’s the first opportunity for bettors to wager on an NFL game since February. Who comes out on top in your Jaguars vs. Raiders prediction?

It’s hard to know what’ll happen in the first preseason game. Let’s see how the Jaguars vs. Raiders odds view this matchup.

2022 NFL Hall of Fame Game Odds

Sportsbook Jacksonville Jaguars Las Vegas Raiders Bonus Offered
Bovada (+105) (-125) 50% up to $250
BetOnline (+2.0) (-115) (-2.0) (-115) 60% up to $1,000
BetUS (+1.0) (-105) (-1.0) (-115) 125% up to $2,500
MyBookie (+100) (-120) 100% up to $1,000

The best NFL betting sites don’t have a consensus with the Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Las Vegas Raiders. Everyone has the Raiders as the favorite, but the odds and spread vary. MyBookie has the spread at 1.5.

The Hall of Fame Game is traditionally a competitive battle. We have seen the differential over nine points twice in the last ten games. Six of those games featured a final score within four points.

Every site has the point total at 32.5, with BetOnline slightly favoring the under.

We should see many Jaguars vs. Raiders betting picks explore the point total. The 2018 Hall of Fame Game featured 33 points. We’ve only seen one instance in the last six games have more points. The previous two Hall of Fame Games haven’t hit 25 points.

The injury report immediately rules out someone like James Robinson. There’s a good chance we don’t see any star players on either side.

Jacksonville Jaguars Preview

The Jacksonville Jaguars’ 2021 season was a disaster. They hoped Urban Meyer would usher in a new era of Jaguars football, but he may have been the worst coach in NFL history. Jacksonville didn’t wait until the end of the season to fire him.

We’ll see a much more functional team with Doug Pederson taking over. Pederson had a very successful tenure with the Philadelphia Eagles, leading them to their first Super Bowl title in franchise history.

We must spotlight the coach for my free Jaguars vs. Raiders pick because Pederson plays a crucial role. We won’t see many starters in the Hall of Fame Game.

There are many new faces with the Jaguars. Brandon Scherff, Christian Kirk, Evan Engram, and Darious Williams headline their free agent signings.

Now we should see rookies on the field in the Hall of Fame Game. Jacksonville selected Travon Walker with the No. 1 pick and Devin Lloyd with the No. 20 pick. Those players could impact my Jaguars vs. Raiders prediction.

Trevor Lawrence likely won’t play, but C.J. Beathard and Jake Luton have NFL experience. Take a look at their NFL numbers.

  C.J. Beathard Jake Luton
Completion Percentage 58.7 54.5
Yards Per Game 166.8 208.0
Touchdowns 18 2
Interceptions 13 6

Jacksonville plays in the Hall of Fame Game for the second time. Offensive tackle Tony Boselli becomes the first Jaguars player to enter the Hall of Fame. He was the first pick in Jaguars history after going No. 2 in the 1995 NFL draft.

It’ll be interesting to see a team like the Jaguars in the Hall of Fame Game because of their young roster.

Those players should receive much playing time. It could be an indication of my expert Jaguars vs. Raiders pick.

Las Vegas Raiders Preview

The Las Vegas Raiders enter the 2022 season with high hopes. They made the playoffs for the first time since 2016, losing to the Cincinnati Bengals in the Wild-Card Round.

Las Vegas made a significant upgrade, acquiring Davante Adams. Adams reunites with college teammate Derek Carr. Raiders fans will have to wait a little longer to see them on the field, as they likely won’t play.

Like the Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas enters the season with a new head coach. Josh McDaniels joins the Raiders after 10+ seasons on the New England Patriots coaching staff.

McDaniels has motivation after a failed stint as head coach of the Denver Broncos in the late 2000s. This is his first chance to show everyone he can be a successful head coach. Is he impacting your Jaguars vs. Raiders betting pick?

The Raiders don’t have many rookies to showcase. They traded their first and second round pick in the Adams trade. Running back Zamir White is the most noteworthy rookie that could play in the Hall of Fame Game.

Nick Mullens should see time at quarterback as the third string. That’s significant for my expert Jaguars vs. Raider pick because he has had NFL success.

  • 64.6 Completion Percentage
  • 243.1 Yards Per Game
  • 26 Touchdowns
  • 22 Interceptions

Mullins and C.J. Beathard were teammates with the San Francisco 49ers. We should see these players go head-to-head.

The Raiders have a pair of Hall of Famers in the 2022 class. Wide receiver Cliff Branch was a three-time All-Pro and three-time Super Bowl Champion. He led the NFL with 1,092 receiving yards in 1977.

Seymour primarily played for the New England Patriots but spent the final four seasons of his career with the Raiders. Will Las Vegas have an edge-rushing specialist in the Hall of Fame Game?

Jaguars vs. Raiders Pick

My Pick: Jacksonville Jaguars (+105)Bet on the Jaguars at Bovada

What can we expect from the Jacksonville Jaguars and Las Vegas Raiders? I honestly don’t know, so it makes sense to take the value.

Jacksonville has a younger roster, so we should see that on display. Las Vegas has the quarterback advantage if Nick Mullins plays the most. My Jaguars vs. Raiders prediction has Doug Pederson leading his team to a win.

The 2022 NFL Hall of Fame Game is Thursday, August 4 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. The game occurs at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, OH. For even more information and betting advice, check out our NFL HOF betting guide.
