Isloch vs. Shakhtyor Soligorsk Pick – Belarusian Premier League, August 21st, 2020

If this round of fixtures does go ahead, this game is a great opportunity for Shakhtyor Soligorsk to extend its lead at the top of the Belarusian Premier League.

With closest rivals Neman and BATE scheduled to meet on Sunday, Shakhtyor could go six points clear with a win against Isloch on Friday evening.

Isloch to Win +459

Shakhtyor Soligorsk to Win -212

It is no surprise that Shakhtyor has been handed the favorites tag by the online betting sites – even though the Soligorsk club must make the trip north to the capital to take on Isloch.

Yuriy Vernydub’s side has not lost a game since April and looks unlikely to end that winning streak this week.

Match Preview

Isloch’s fine recent run of three consecutive victories has given the small Minsk club a chance of European qualification after some middling performances that had seen it drop away from the scrum of clubs in the chasing pack. Some high-scoring encounters have invigorated the crowd and the players alike.

There have been seven goals in the last two away games against Slavia Mozyr and Vitebsk – and manager Vitaly Zhukovsky might not care too much about the goals conceded as long as the wins keep coming.

This week’s fixture will be a little trickier however. If Shakhtyor is allowed the chance to score a few goals then it could mean game over for the home side. The Soligorsk side has not conceded a goal for five games now – and even that was set against the four scored in the Gordodeya net.

Shakhtyor has looked simply unstoppable for months now, as it has come through the pack of rivals to lead the way in the Belarusian Premier League. With Neman and BATE meeting in this round, there could be an even bigger gap at the top after the weekend is over.

Prediction and Betting Pick

  • Shakhtyor Soligorsk to Win

It is very difficult to go against Shakhtyor in any game at the moment, with the league leaders beating all before them as they keep the pressure on the other contenders at the top of the table.

With so many goals being scored at the same time, opponents have simply not been given a chance – and that should be the case on Friday evening with Isloch as well.
