Inter vs. Parma – Serie A, October 31, 2020

Inter snapped a three-game winless run with a 2-0 road victory over Genoa in the previous round but failed to get a win in the Champions League again. After a 2-2 home draw with Borussia Monchengladbach, Inter played a scoreless draw in Ukraine against Shakhtar Donetsk. They have serious problems in the European elite competition but will switch focus to Serie A on Saturday and duel with Parma. After the opening five matches in the league, Inter is in the 5th place with ten points.

Parma, on the other hand, already suffered three losses in this campaign and is without a win in the previous two Serie A matches, but managed to secure a 3-1 victory over Pescara in Coppa Italia. They are traveling to Stadio Giuseppe Meazza as massive underdogs, and another league loss is looming. Parma is currently in the 16th position with four points from five games.

Inter perhaps failed to produce a single shot on target in the opening half of a Serie A match for the first time under Antonio Conte in the previous round, but two goals after the 60th minute gave them third league win this season (W3, D1, L1). A tight clash might be on the cards as only two of those five matches finished with a 2+ goal difference.

Still, each of Inter’s three competitive games at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in this campaign has featured both teams finding the back of the net and over 2.5 goals scored. Both league matches in that span saw both teams score in the opening half, with the visiting team on the day scoring the opener each time in the first 15 minutes.
