Inter vs. Parma – Serie A, October 31, 2020

Inter snapped a three-game winless run with a 2-0 road victory over Genoa in the previous round but failed to get a win in the Champions League again. After a 2-2 home draw with Borussia Monchengladbach, Inter played a scoreless draw in Ukraine against Shakhtar Donetsk. They have serious problems in the European elite competition but will switch focus to Serie A on Saturday and duel with Parma. After the opening five matches in the league, Inter is in the 5th place with ten points.

Parma, on the other hand, already suffered three losses in this campaign and is without a win in the previous two Serie A matches, but managed to secure a 3-1 victory over Pescara in Coppa Italia. They are traveling to Stadio Giuseppe Meazza as massive underdogs, and another league loss is looming. Parma is currently in the 16th position with four points from five games.

Inter Team News and Stats

Inter perhaps failed to produce a single shot on target in the opening half of a Serie A match for the first time under Antonio Conte in the previous round, but two goals after the 60th minute gave them third league win this season (W3, D1, L1). A tight clash might be on the cards as only two of those five matches finished with a 2+ goal difference.

Still, each of Inter’s three competitive games at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in this campaign has featured both teams finding the back of the net and over 2.5 goals scored. Both league matches in that span saw both teams score in the opening half, with the visiting team on the day scoring the opener each time in the first 15 minutes.

Antonio Conte will be without Roberto Gagliardini (illness), Andrei Radu (illness), Alexis Sanchez (thigh), Stefano Sensi (muscle), and Matias Vecino (knee), while Milan Skriniar is questionable with an illness.

Parma Team News and Stats

Inter’s recent first-half struggles might suit Parma, who grabbed the opening goal in two of their last three Serie A games (W1, D1, L1), doing it once in the first minute. However, Parma allowed at least twice in four of their five matches this season, with four of their 11 goals against coming in the space between the 28th and 31st minute.

A 3-2 defeat at Udinese earlier in October kept Parma’s entertaining streak of Serie A games on the road going. Their previous nine matches have now witnessed both teams scoring, with eight producing over 2.5 goals. Nevertheless, Parma lost both away league games this term, allowing precisely twice in the second half.

Fabio Liverani cannot count on Juan Francisco Brunetta, Maxime Busi (muscle), Roberto Inglese, Vincent Laurini, Valentin Mihaila (muscle), and Yordan Osorio.

Inter vs. Parma Pick

Inter won four of the previous ten H2H encounters (D3, L3), including two of the last three (D1), but they failed to get a win in each of the past four meetings at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza (D3, L1). Parma is struggling to keep their net intact, especially on the road, and I am backing Inter to finally get a win over Parma at home, despite only one victory in the last five matches in all competitions. I am going with a Bet Builder and Inter to win with the hosts to score Over 2 goals.

Pick
  • Inter to win & Inter to score Over 2 goals
    -110
