Inter Miami vs. Orlando City – MLS, October 24, 2020
Inter Miami may only be competing in their debut MLS campaign, yet it feels like the Florida Derby is fast becoming a standout fixture on the calendar.
The local rivals have already faced each other three times this year, with Miami claiming one win and Orlando winning twice. On Saturday, October 24, Miami hosts Orlando for the fourth Florida Derby of the season.

Inter Miami vs. Orlando City Odds
Despite Orlando City’s (3.25) remarkable 12-game unbeaten run, the top online betting sites view Inter Miami (2.00) as the favorite to win the fourth Florida Derby.
Granted, the Herons have improved dramatically in recent weeks. But given that Orlando is 14 points ahead of Miami in the Eastern Conference, it is difficult to ignore the high price for the away win here.
Inter Miami vs. Orlando City Preview
Things were looking up for Inter Miami after the team managed to put together a three-game unbeaten streak at the beginning of October. Back-to-back victories over New York Red Bulls and Houston Dynamo, along with a draw against Atlanta United, enhanced the club’s play-off dreams. But the Herons were shot down by Montreal Impact last weekend.
Former Barcelona star Bojan gave Montreal the lead after just six minutes, although Brek Shea scored his second goal in as many games to level the score. However, Maximiliano Urruti netted the winner for the Impact, before Gonzalo Higuain was shown a red card for abusing the referee after the final whistle.
Higuain now faces an automatic one-game suspension, meaning he will miss Saturday’s derby. The Argentine has made a real impression since joining from Serie A champions Juventus, so it goes without saying that he will be sorely missed.
Meanwhile, Orlando City appeared to be heading for victory on Sunday. Ex-Manchester United man Nani netted a penalty to put the Lions ahead early in the second half, but an injury-time equalizer from Brian White saw the Red Bulls snatch a late point.
Oscar Pareja’s men have now drawn each of their previous three outings, although they remain unbeaten in their last 12. Six wins and six draws have seen Orlando all but secure their spot in the play-offs, and a win on Saturday would guarantee them a place in the next phase.
The Lions first beat the Herons in the MLS is Back Tournament group stage, but Miami got their revenge a month later. Still, Orlando currently holds the Florida bragging rights having claimed a 2-1 victory over their rivals in September.
Inter Miami vs. Orlando City Pick
Orlando City to Win3.25
Form often goes out the window when two rival teams clash, but I’m confident that Orlando will win on Saturday. The Lions have been miles better than Miami throughout the season and have already sealed two victories in this fixture this year.
The Herons have bolstered their squad recently, but I can see them struggling without the suspended Higuain. The Argentine has been at the heart of the team’s recent upturn, and Miami won’t be able to rely on their star striker this weekend.
