Indiana Grand Race Course Picks – Tuesday, September 29, 2020
Indiana Grand Race Course brings us plenty of thoroughbred competition today, with 11 maiden, starter, allowance, and claiming races.
If you’re planning on attending the races at Indiana Grand today (they do allow spectators, you know), expect mostly sunny skies, highs in the mid-60s, a slight chance of rain, and breezes around eight mph.
But whether you’re a track rat or a cyberpunter, you can find all the other races on Indiana Grand’s schedule today at one of our top online racebooks.
Read on for my tips, picks, and predictions for horse racing at Indiana Grand for Tuesday.
Pick for Indiana Grand Race Course Race 3
This is an allowance race for Indiana-bred and -sired three-year-olds and upward running a distance of 5-1/2 furlongs for a purse of $37,000.
I’m backing the 9/5 morning line favorite—Colonel Hubert, with Marcelino Pedroza in the irons. This three-year-old gelding moneyed two of his five career starts, winning one.
Only long odds in this race are 15/1 on Kulmer, ridden by Samuel Bermudez–and I don’t see a money finish for them in this race.
- Win: Colonel Hubert 9/5
Pick for Indiana Grand Race Course Race 4
This is a maiden special weight race for Indiana-bred two-year-olds running a distance of six furlongs for a purse of $33,000.
And I’m sticking with the 3/1 morning line favorite in this race, as well—Azzaro Street, with Emmanuel Esquivel aboard. This gelding moneyed in one of his two career starts, pulling a third in his second maiden race.
I’d like to say at least one of the several longshots in this was a value show wager, but I can’t. Save your risky-money for later.
- Win: Azzaro Street 3/1
Picks for Indiana Grand Race Course Race 5
This is an allowance race for two-year-old fillies running a distance of one mile on turf for a purse of $32,500.
And once again I find myself backing the 1/1 morning line favorite—Carimba, with Deshawn Parker in the irons. This filly won her single career start back in August.
At 20/1, I like Lettered Olive, ridden by Thomas Pompell, for a value show ticket. This filly moneyed all four of her career starts, winning one.
- Win: Carimba 1/1
- Show: Lettered Olive 20/1
