Indiana Grand Race Course Picks – Thursday, September 10, 2020

Indiana Grand Race Course presents a good mix of maiden, allowance, and claiming races for Thursday, September 10, 2020. Expect partly cloudy skies but only a slight chance of rain. Track conditions continue to be fast (main track) and firm (turf).
But you don’t come here for the weather report, so let’s read on for my racing predictions and picks for Thursday’s richest races at Indiana Grand Race Course.
Indiana Grand Race Course Picks for Race 5
This is an allowance optional claiming race for three-year-olds and upward running a distance of one mile and 70 yards for a purse of $32,500.
I like the second-favored (5/2) entry in this race—Tez, ridden by Marcelino Pedroza. This four-year-old colt finished in the money 11 of his 16 career starts, winning four of them.
At 20/1, Mine Own Star with Rocco Bowen aboard is a value show ticket. This three-year-old gelding moneyed two of his three career starts, winning one of them.
- Win: Tez 5/2
- Show: Mine Own Star 20/1
Picks for Indiana Grand Race Course Race 6
This is a maiden special weight race for Indiana-breds three years old and upward running a distance of 5-1/2 furlongs for a purse of $35,000.
I’m going with the second-favored (2/1) entry in this race, as well: Bravo Express, ridden by Jose Riquelme. This three-year-old gelding moneyed three of his seven career starts, giving him a slight statistical advantage over the morning line favorite.
This appears to be a wide-open race for longshots, so I’m going to recommend a show ticket on the 20/1 All Star Justice, with Eduardo E. Perez aboard. This three-year-old gelding finished in the money two of his six starts.
- Win: Bravo Express 2/1
- Show: All Star Justice 20/1
Picks for Indiana Grand Race Course Race 7
This is an allowance race for Indiana-breds three years old and upward running a distance of one mile for a purse of $38,500.
I’m sticking with the 7/5 morning line favorite here—Classy Cowboy, with Deshawn Parker in the irons. This five-year-old gelding moneyed ten of his 12 career starts, winning three of them.
At 15/1, Slovak Power, with Thomas Pompell aboard, is slightly undervalued here, and worth a show bet. This four-year-old gelding moneyed six of his 12 starts, winning two of them.
- Win: Classy Cowboy 7/5
- Show: Slovak Power 15/1
