Indiana Grand Race Course Picks – Tuesday, October 6, 2020

Indiana Grand Race Course continues its thoroughbred racing schedule today with ten maiden, claiming, and allowance matches. Spectators at Indiana’s only open horse racing track can expect sunny skies, temps in the mid-70s, a slight (10%) chance of rain, and winds around 13 mph.
Read on for my Tuesday picks and tips for Indiana Grand Race Course.
Indiana Grand Picks for Race 3
This is an allowance race for Indiana-bred fillies and mares three years old and upward running a distance of six furlongs for a purse of $38,500.
I like the 7/2 morning line favorite—Serena Beck, with Jermaine Bridgmohan in the irons. This three-year-old filly finished in the money all three of her career starts, winning two of them. Her single second-place finish was in the Indiana First Lady Stakes back in August.
At 15/1, Drinkatthecreek, with Alex Achard aboard, is a modest bargain bet. This four-year-old filly moneyed 11 of her 19 starts, winning three.
- Win: Serena Beck 7/2
- Show: Drinkatthecreek 15/1
Indiana Grand Pick for Race 5
This is an allowance race for three-year-olds and upward running a distance of six furlongs for a purse of $34,500.
My money is on the second-favored (3/1) entry in this race—Soul Streit, piloted by Jermaine Bridgmohan. This five-year-old ridgling moneyed five of his eight career starts, winning three of them.
There are a couple of longer-odds entries in this race, but neither is worth risking a show bet.
- Win: Soul Streit 3/1
Indiana Grand Picks for Race 7
This is an allowance optional claiming race for fillies and mares three years old and upward running a distance of five furlongs on turf for a purse of $34,500.
On turf, I like the 9/5 favorite Jeannie’s Beepbeep, with Santos Sanjur aboard. This four-year-old filly moneyed six of her seven career starts and won three of them.
If Jeannie’s Beepbeep is scratched and the MTO also-eligible A Thousand Reasons (7/5) joins the race, then I would switch my win ticket to her—she finished in the money five of her eight starts and won four of them.
I really wanted to recommend a show bet on the 20/1 Picante Caliente, but she hasn’t finished in the money since 2019.
- Win (turf): Jeannie’s Beepbeep 9/5
- Win (MTO): A Thousand Reasons 7/5
