Indiana Grand Race Course Picks – Wednesday, November 4, 2020

| November 3, 2020 1:20 pm PDT

Indiana Grand Race Course brings us an 11-race card full of maiden, allowance, and claiming matches for Wednesday.

Remember that while I cover the three richest races at Indiana Grand, you can always find their full race card — including entries, jockeys, and betting options — at one of our top horse racing betting sites.

Read on for my Indiana Grand Race Course picks for Wednesday, November 4, 2020.

Picks for Indiana Grand Race Course Race 6

This is an allowance race for Indiana-bred and -sired three-year-olds and upward running a distance of one mile and 7 yards for a purse of $37,000.

I have to stick with the morning line’s choice in this race and bet on the 9/5 favorite — Nates Heartthrob, with Santo Sanjur in the irons. This three-year-old gelding moneyed seven of his 11 career starts, winning one — giving him the best record in this field.

At 12/1, I like Fashion Nugget, ridden by Thomas Pompell. This four-year-old gelding moneyed six of his 12 career starts, with one win. His 2020 record paints an even better picture: Six money finishes in seven starts. Show bet only.

  • Win: Nates Heartthrob 9/5
  • Show: Fashion Nugget 12/1

Pick for Indiana Grand Race Course Race 8

This is a maiden special weight race for Indiana-bred and -sired two-year-olds running a distance of six furlongs for a purse of $35,000.

I like the third-favored (9/2) entry here — Benny Boo Boo, ridden by Rodney Prescott. This gelding moneyed three of his five career starts. While the favorite in this race has a good record (two money finishes in two starts), he is edged out of the picture by Benny Boo Boo’s speed stats.

There is an embarrassment of longshots in this race (including one of Benny Boo Boo’s siblings), and I’m sorry to say that not a single one looks capable of finishing in the money.

  • Win: Benny Boo Boo 9/2

Pick for Indiana Grand Race Course Race 10

This is an allowance race for Indiana-bred three-year-olds and upward running a distance of six furlongs for a  purse of $36,500.

I’m buying a win ticket for the fourth-favored (4/1) Cash for Gold, with Fernando De La Cruz aboard. This three-year-old gelding moneyed six of his seven career starts, winning two, which sets him well ahead of the morning line’s more favored choices.

There are two longshots in this seven-horse race, and they are more likely to pass the bar exam than they are to finish in the money here.

  • Win: Cash for Gold 4/1

More Racing Predictions for Wednesday

I found more underdogs and certainly more bargain show bets at the other two tracks I reviewed:
