Indiana Grand Race Course Picks – Wednesday, November 18, 2020

| November 17, 2020 12:54 pm PDT

Indiana Grand Race Course is headlining two more ungraded stakes races for Wednesday: the Frances Slocum Stakes and the To Much Coffee Stakes. I review those two races as well as a big-purse allowance race.

Remember that Indiana Grand Race Course permits spectators. If you plan to attend, expect sunny skies, temps in the lower 50s, and winds around 13 mph.

Read on for my Indiana Grand Race Course picks for Wednesday, November 18, 2020.

Pick for Indiana Grand Race Course Race 2

This is an allowance race for Indiana-bred and -sired fillies and mares three years old and upward running a distance of one mile and 70 yards for a purse of $39,000.

I’m going with the second-favored (7/2) entry here — Prescience, with Santo Sanjur in the irons. This four-year-old filly moneyed three of her four career starts, winning two.

At 20/1, Elusive Justice, with Deshawn Parker aboard, looks like a good value show wager to me. This three-year-old filly moneyed eight of her 17 career starts, winning two, but her 2020 starts look even better: six money finishes in 11 starts, two of them wins.

  • Win: Prescience 7/2
  • Show: Elusive Justice 20/1

Indiana Grand Race Course Race 8 — Frances Slocum Stakes Pick

This is ungraded Frances Slocum Stakes, a race for Indiana-bred fillies and mares three years old and older running a distance of 1-1/16 miles for a purse of $100,000.

I like the fourth-favored (6/1) entry — Unbridled Class, ridden by Rodney Prescott. This five-year-old mare tops the field with her record of 23 money finishes in 27 career starts, eleven of those wins.

I don’t see any longshots in this race (and there are plenty, including three at 50/1) that will come anywhere near the money. Save it for next time.

  • Win: Unbridled Class 6/1

Indiana Grand Race Course Race 9 — To Much Coffee Stakes Picks

This is the ungraded To Much Coffee Stakes, a race for Indiana-bred three-year-olds and older running a distance of 1-1/16 miles for a purse of $100,000.

My money’s on the second-favored (4/1) entry — Flatter Hymn, with Alex Canchari in the irons. This three-year-old gelding moneyed three of his four career starts, all three of them wins. His one finish out of the money was a fourth-place in the Brickyard Stakes (Black Type) at Indiana Grand in October.

At 15/1, Two Last Words, with Deshawn Parker aboard, is a value show bet I can get behind. This three-year-old gelding moneyed eight of his 13 career starts, winning five.

  • Win: Flatter Hymn 4/1
  • Show: Two Last Words 15/1

More Predictions for Wednesday

Indiana Grand was good for both underdogs and value show wagers for Wednesday, but I found more at the other two tracks I reviewed:
