Indiana Grand Race Course – Tuesday, November 17, 2020

Indiana Grand Race Course brings us the Miss Indiana Stakes and the Indiana Futurity along with its usual fare of maiden, claiming, and allowance races. Incidentally, Indiana Grand Race Course currently permits spectators.

This is an allowance optional claiming race for fillies and mares three years old and upward running a distance of five furlongs on turf for a purse of $34,500.

I’m backing the second-favored (9/2) turf entry — Fiftyshadesograyce, with Thomas Pompell in the irons. This five-year-old mare finished in the money 16 of her 21 career starts, winning seven.

In the event of late scratches or a switch to the main track eliminating Fiftyshadesograyce, you’re going to want to buy a win ticket for the 3/5 also-eligible (MTO) favorite, Krunch, with Santo Sanjur aboard. This four-year-old filly moneyed seven of her nine career starts, winning six.

At 20/1, I have to like Victorias Fire, by ridden Deshawn Parker, for a show bet. This seven-year-old mare moneyed 22 of her 40 starts, winning 15 of them.

This is the ungraded Miss Indiana Stakes, a race for Indiana-bred two-year-old fillies running a distance of one mile and 70 yards for a purse of $75,000.

Looks like I’ll be betting on the 7/5 morning line favorite, Hungarian Princess, with Samuel Bermudez aboard. This filly won three of her four starts — and her latest two wins were both stakes races (Black Type).

At 30/1, Tuckyourtaleandrun, ridden by Jermaine Bridgmohan, is a good value show ticket. This filly moneyed all four of her career starts.

This is the ungraded Indiana Futurity, a stakes race for Indiana-bred two-year-olds running a distance of one mile and 70 yards for a purse of $75,000.

I’m backing the 3/1 morning line favorite in this stakes race, as well — Dillsboro Devil, ridden by Marcelino Pedroza. This gelding won both of his two career starts, the first his maiden (in early October), and the second the Crown Ambassador Stakes (Black Type) in late October — both at Indiana Grand. Suffice it to say this horse knows where the finish line is.

I have two potential show bets here., At 30/1, there’s the also-eligible Dirty Justice, with Fernando De La Cruz aboard, and if Dirty Justice does not start this race, then I recommend a show ticket on the 30/1 Benny Boo Boo.

The gelding Dirty Justice moneyed all three of his career starts, and Benny Boo Boo (also a gelding) finished in the money four of his six starts.
