Iga Swiatek vs. Nadia Podorska – French Open, October 8, 2020
I don’t think that anyone expected to see Iga Swiatek and Nadia Podorska in the Last 4 of the 2020 French Open, but both players deserved their place here. One of them will even have the opportunity to fight for the title and win her first Grand Slam.
I share my thoughts on their chances to progress in this Iga Swiatek vs. Nadia Podorska betting preview. The post includes the latest odds, analysis of each player’s performance up to this point, my prediction, and a free betting pick.

The Iga Swiatek vs. Nadia Podorska odds of the top online betting sites suggest that the teenager should win this one with ease. And yet, the Argentinian has been the underdog in pretty much every single match so far and that has been working in her favor.
Iga Swiatek Analysis
We’ve seen players before the age of 20 storm Grand Slam tournaments before, especially in the women’s singles events. And yet, not many of them were as dominant as Iga Swiatek has been in the 2020 Roland-Garros.
The Polish teenager is yet to lose a set in the tournament and she didn’t allow more than five games against any of her opponents so far. It’s one of the most devastating performances we’ve ever seen in Paris.
Swiatek’s complex style is the main reason behind her success. She can do pretty much everything on the court, so it’s hard to find a weakness. The youngster is both very aggressive and an expert on the defensive end when the opponent has the initiative.
On top of that, she has shown composure in the key points of every match so far and her confidence is off the charts.
Nadia Podorska Analysis
There’s an argument to be made that Nadia Podorska’s run is even more remarkable than what we’ve seen by Iga Swiatek. The Argentinian started her journey from the qualifiers and was supposed to be eliminated pretty much on every step of the main draw.
She knocked out the 20th seed Wang in the opening round and then continued beating everyone in front of her. The most impressive match was the quarterfinal against the 3rd seed Elina Svitolina that was completely demolished.
Podorska has shown a combination of resilience and aggression that led her to this point. Everyone expects a loss against Swiatek, but the Argentinian loves the role of the underdog and will embrace it once again.
Swiatek vs. Podorska Betting Pick
I believe that Iga Swiatek will be put under severe pressure this time around and I won’t be surprised if she finally loses a set. I don’t think she will lose the match but Podorska is here to fight. That’s why the price of -112 for over 19.5 games in this one makes the most sense.
The pick will certainly win if we go to three sets and there’s a good chance the outcome is true even if there are only two.
