| June 29, 2022 10:15 am PDT

If you aren’t following my NASCAR picks for the Xfinity Series, now is the time to jump on the bandwagon. Justin Allgaier’s victory at Nashville gave us back-to-back races predicting the winner.

We’re riding a hot streak as the Xfinity Series heads to Road America. The 4.048-mile road course hosts the Xfinity Series for the 13th straight year. Kyle Busch claimed the win in last year’s race but won’t be in the field.

Do your Henry 180 predictions feature a surprise winner? First take a look at the best sites for betting on this race, and then check out my expert Henry 180 picks.

A.J. Allmendinger (+375)

Every time the Xfinity Series visits a road course, I mention how A.J. Allmendinger needs to be in your lineup. Well, he’s two for two this season, winning both road course races in the Xfinity Series.

Allmendinger overcame multiple issues to win the inaugural Xfinity Series race at Portland. Honestly, (+400) odds are high for Allmendinger on a road course. There’s no way my NASCAR betting picks wouldn’t include him.

He scored his first career Xfinity Series victory in Road America in 2013. Allmendinger has been among the top contenders in his four Road America starts.

  Finishing Position Laps Led
2013 1st 29
2019 24th 10
2020 2nd 9
2021 4th 12

It might not seem like many laps led, but Road America is only a 45-lap race. He has led nearly 25 percent of the race in each start. Are there any questions about his status as a top contender?

Allmendinger didn’t lead many laps at Portland, but he put himself out front when it mattered most. No one has finished ahead of him on a road course in 2022.

Can Allmendinger score his ninth road course win in the Xfinity Series? The Henry 180 betting odds have him as a top contender.

Ty Gibbs (+700)

Ty Gibbs has been flying under the radar over the last few races. Gibbs won three of the first seven races but hasn’t visited victory lane in his previous eight races. He has only led 15+ laps in two of his last seven races.

It’s nothing bad from Gibbs, but we’re not seeing the same race-winning speed. Gibbs makes my NASCAR betting picks for Road America because his one great performance in the last seven races was Portland.

Before A.J. Allmendinger came to life, Gibbs had the car to beat. He led 42 straight laps but lost the lead after a bizarre crash with a lap car.

Gibbs recovered to score a top 10 finish, but he had the speed to win. I believe we could see the same at Road America. He qualified on the pole for last year’s race, but an early transmission issue took him out of contention.

The 19-year-old has been strong on road courses in his career, earning two wins, three top-five finishes, and four top 10 finishes in eight races. He can add to his resume with a Road America win.

My Henry 180 predictions believe Gibbs will battle Allmendinger for the win.

Austin Hill (+1600)

Austin Hill has been quiet since opening the season with a victory at Daytona. We haven’t seen race-winning speed, but he has finished top 10 in four of his last five races. We’re seeing much more consistency lately.

Hill was always a solid road course racer in the Truck Series. He has one win and five top 10 finishes in six starts. His road course success has carried over to the Xfinity Series.

Check out his road courses finishes this season.

  • COTA: 2nd
  • Portland: 3rd

Is that good enough for your NASCAR predictions? Hill hasn’t led a lap in either race, but a pair of top-three finishes show he has been in contention to win. A.J. Allmendinger is the only other driver with a pair of top-three finishes on road courses in 2022.

Allmendinger came to life at the end of the Portland race. Hill’s driver rating at Portland, 122.5, was much higher than Allmendinger’s 97.3. Will your Henry 180 picks have Hill over Allmendinger?

The Henry 180 odds provide value for Hill. How often can you find someone with a pair of top-three finishes on road courses at this price? He should be in contention for another strong finish.

Myatt Snider (+4000)

The NASCAR sportsbooks made a questionable decision with Myatt Snider’s odds. It’s no secret that Snider has had a tough season. He has finished outside the top 20 in 11 of the 15 races. However, he makes my NASCAR betting picks for his road course success.

Snider wasn’t a contender at COTA, but he recovered to score a sixth-place finish. He had a car capable of winning at Portland. Take a look at his numbers.

  • Starting Position: 25th
  • Finishing Position: 2nd
  • Laps Led: 19 of 75

Snider won Stage 2, leading on the final restart. He couldn’t hold off A.J. Allmendinger, scoring a second-place finish. Still, it was an impressive performance considering his 2022 struggles. My NASCAR picks believe in another strong performance.

Portland marked his first top-five finish on a road course, but he has five top 10 finishes in 13 starts. Portland marked the first time he was in contention for the win. My NASCAR predictions can’t pass him up at (+4000).

Hopefully, his Portland performance wasn’t a fluke. It’s not uncommon to see a longshot compete for the win at a road course. Snider is the prime candidate at Road America.

Who Will Win the Henry 180?

My Pick: A.J Allmendinger (+375)Bet on Xfinity Series Racing at BetOnline

Did you think I would pick anyone else? I’ve picked A.J. Allmendinger in both road course races this season, and he hasn’t let me down. Everyone knows the saying, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

My Henry 180 prediction sees no reason to pick against Allmendinger. He has been the driver to beat on road courses. I expected lower odds for Road America, but I’m not complaining about his value.

Please tune into USA on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET to watch the Henry 180. Check out our NASCAR picks for more content.
