Gulfstream Park Picks – Wednesday, December 23, 2020

| December 22, 2020 11:51 am PDT

Gulfstream Park features a full ten-race schedule of maiden, allowance, and claiming races on both turf and the main track for Wednesday.

I review Gulfstream‘s three richest races here, but you will find their entire 10-race card — including horses, jockeys, M/L odds, and wagering options — at one of our best horse racing betting sites.

Read on for my Gulfstream Park picks and tips for Wednesday, December 23, 2020.

Picks for Gulfstream Park Race 3

This is a claiming race for fillies and mares three years old and upward running a distance of one mile for a purse of $33,000.

I’m going with the second-favored (3/1) entry here — Elusive Molly, with Tyler Gaffalione aboard. This three-year-old filly finished in the money eight of her 11 career starts, winning three.

At 10/1 (the longest M/L odds in this six-horse race), Inedatequila, with Junior Alvarado in the irons, ducks under the wire for a value show bet. This three-year-old filly moneyed four of her eight career starts, winning three.

  •  Win: Elusive Molly 3/1
  •  Show: Inedatequila 10/1

Picks for Gulfstream Park Race 8

This is an allowance optional claiming race for fillies and mares three years old and upward running a distance of one mile for a purse of $47,000.

My money’s on the 5/2 morning line favorite in this race — Recoded, ridden by Julien Leparoux. This three-year-old filly moneyed nine of her 15 career starts, five of those wins.

And I like the 20/1 longshot Perspire, with Junior Alvarado aboard, for a value show wager. This four-year-old filly finished in the money six of her 13 career starts, winning three.

  •  Win: Recoded 5/2
  •  Show: Perspire 20/1

Pick for Gulfstream Park Race 9

This is an allowance optional claiming race for three-year-olds and upward running a distance of one mile on turf for a purse of $40,000.

While the second-favored entry in this match has a better record, I’m going with the 9/5 morning line favorite here — Shamrocket, with Irad Ortiz, Jr. in the irons. This three-year-old colt moneyed eight of his nine career starts, winning one.

The second-favored Kroy may have more wins on paper (seven of 25 starts), but those glories are mostly pre-2019. In the past two years, the six-year-old gelding has won exactly one race.

Plenty of long-odds entries in this ten-horse field, but I don’t see any among them that might see a paycheck at the finish line, so save your long money.

  •  Win: Shamrocket 9/5

My Wednesday Picks for Other Tracks

Gulfstream Park had some good wagering options, and I found more at the other two tracks I reviewed for Wednesday:
