Gulfstream Park Picks – Friday, December 11, 2020

Gulfstream Park brings us ten-race turf and dirt racing schedule of mostly claiming matches to make you happy whether you’re celebrating the end of the week, the beginning of the weekend, or International Mountain Day.
Okay, maybe our cause for celebration is just the chance to buy a win ticket or two, but that should be every day, right?
In any case, I review Friday’s three richest turf races at Gulfstream Park, but you can find their entire ten-race card at one of our best horse racing betting sites.
Read on for my Gulfstream Park picks and betting tips for Friday, December 11, 2020.
Pick for Gulfstream Park Race 3
This is a maiden claiming race for fillies and mares three years old and upward running a distance of one mile on turf for a purse of $39,000.
Plenty of star power in the irons for this race, and I’m buying my win ticket for the third-favored (3/1) entry — Cat Lady, with Emisael Jaramillo aboard. This three-year-old filly moneyed three of her five career starts.
There are two 20/1 longshots in this seven-horse race, but I don’t see either of them finishing with a paycheck, so save your long money for later.
- Win: Cat Lady 3/1
Pick for Gulfstream Park Race 9
This is an allowance optional claiming race for two-year-olds running a distance of one mile on turf for a purse of $47,000.
My money is on the third-favored (7/2) entry, Tarantino, with Edgard Zayas in the irons. This colt moneyed both of his career starts, winning one, missing a second win by a hair in the Zuma Beach Stakes at Santa Anita in October.
The longest odds in this race are 15/1, and those aren’t long enough to warrant a show bet.
- Win: Tarantino 7/2
Picks for Gulfstream Park Race 10
This is an allowance optional claiming race for three-year-olds and upward running a distance of five furlongs on turf for a purse of $47,000.
I’m sticking with the 9/5 morning line favorite here — Pay Any Price, ridden by Paco Lopez. This ten-year-old gelding moneyed 25 of his 33 career starts, winning 19 of them. A large percentage of his starts have been in Listed and Black Type stakes races, the latest of which was the Bob Umphrey Turf Sprint Stakes (Black Type) at Gulfstream Park in July. He won that one.
There are several 30/1 and 20/1 longshots in this race, but the longest I’ll go for a value show bet on the 20/1 Kobe Fifty Two, with Victor Lebron in the irons. This four-year-old gelding finished in the money four of his five career starts, winning two.
- Win: Pay Any Price 9/5
- Show: Kobe Fifty Two 20/1
