Although this one won’t be played on Sunday Night Football, the NFC showdown between the Green Bay Packers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be a headline of Week 6.

The undefeated Packers are coming fresh off a bye, looking for their fifth straight win on the season. The 3-2 Buccaneers will be desperate to bounce back from a tough loss in Chicago, so excitement is guaranteed at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on Sunday, October 18.

Therefore, I’ve prepared all the key betting tips and trends for this marquee NFC clash along with my best Packers vs. Buccaneers betting pick.

Packers vs. Buccaneers Odds

Packers -1.5 -110
Buccaneers +1.5 -110
Packers to Win -130
Buccaneers to Win +115
Over 54.0 -110
Under 54.0 -110

The Packers had enough time to rest and prepare for Week 6, so they opened as a slight 1.5-point fave. However, having a bye week early in the season is not a big advantage, and the Buccaneers played in Week 5 Thursday Night Football, so the hosts had just enough time to rest, too.

I’m a bit surprised by a 54-point line with all the offensive talent on both sides, and betting on the over seems like a very tempting option.

Green Bay Packers Form

The Green Bay Packers possess the highest-scoring offense in football, averaging a whopping 38.0 points per game. Also, the Packers are racking up the second-most total yards (445.5) and the fifth-most rushing yards per game (150.8).

Aaron Rodgers is enjoying a wonderful season, throwing for 1,241 yards and 13 touchdowns while completing 70.5% of his passing attempts. Wideouts Allen Lazard and Marquez Valdes-Scantling combined for 464 yards and three touchdowns, while Aaron Jones added 509 yards from scrimmage and six scores.

Davante Adams missed the previous two games due to a hamstring injury, but he returned to practice on Monday and should be good to go against the Bucs. Robert Tonyan was the key target in the red zone in Adams’ absence, and the 26-year-old tight end has 13 receptions for five touchdowns.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Form

The Buccaneers put an end to a three-game win streak this past Thursday, suffering a 20-19 defeat at the Chicago Bears. They blew a 13-0 lead, scoring only a couple of field goals in the second half.

The Bucs struggled mightily against the Bears’ defense, racking up only 339 total yards while converting just one of their three red-zone opportunities. Tampa is averaging 27.8 points per game this season (11th in the NFL) while posting 365.0 total yards per contest (19th), but the Bucs have some injury problems, too.

Mike Evans is playing on one leg and Chris Godwin missed the previous two weeks due to a hamstring injury, so the Bucs are almost without their best wideouts. Evans has scored a TD in each of the first five games, but he’s struggling with injuries that cause him missing a bunch of snaps.

Godwin is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against Green Bay. The Bucs are missing him badly, and a long week could help Chris return when they need him the most.

Packers vs. Buccaneers Pick

Neither of these two foes can brag with a stout defense, so I’m going with the over on the totals at -110 odds. This should be a tight battle, so I would stay away from the side bet.

The Packers are allowing 25.3 points per game (18th), and their secondary looks vulnerable which is a chance for Tom Brady, especially if Godwin suits up.

On the other side, the Bucs are yielding 22.4 points per contest (8th). They are allowing only 58.4 rushing yards per game (1st), but the Bucs’ secondary will be tortured by Aaron Rodgers all game long.

Green Bay is undefeated in three straight meetings with Tampa, covering twice in the process, while the over is 4-1 in the last five encounters between these two NFC foes.
