Golden Gate Fields Picks – Friday, February 12, 2021

Golden Gate Fields serves up maiden, starter, allowance, and claiming races on its seven-race schedule for Friday.
Remember that while I review the three top races here, you can find Golden Gate Fields’ full seven-race card for Friday — including horses, jockeys, trainers, M/L odds, and wagering options — at one of our best horse racing betting sites.
Read on for my Golden Gate Fields picks and betting tips for Friday’s richest races.
Picks for Golden Gate Fields Race 1
This is a claiming race for four-year-olds and upward running a distance of 5-1/2 furlongs on the all-weather track for a purse of $19,000.
My money is on the second-favored (3/1) entry in this race — Sunrise Journey, with Evin A. Roman in the irons. This six-year-old gelding finished in the money for 11 of his 19 career starts, winning seven, which gives him the best statistical record in this seven-horse field.
At 10/1, Regal Born, with Frank T. Alvarado aboard, looks like a good value show bet. This seven-year-old gelding moneyed 21 of his 31 career starts, winning four.
- Win: Sunrise Journey 3/1
- Show: Regal Born 10/1
Pick for Golden Gate Fields Race 3
This is an allowance race for fillies and mares four years old and upward running a distance of 5-1/2 furlongs on an all-weather track for a purse of $33,000.
I agree with the morning line for this race, and I’m betting on the 8/5 favorite — Dynasty of Her Own, ridden by Evin A. Roman. This four-year-old filly moneyed five of her seven career starts, winning four.
The longest morning line odds in this race are 15/1, and I don’t see that horse collecting a paycheck on the other side of the finish line, not against this field.
- Win: Dynasty of Her Own 8/5
Picks for Golden Gate Fields Race 4
This is a maiden special weight race for California-bred or -sired three-year-old fillies running a distance of one mile on an all-weather track for a purse of $39,000.
I like the second-favored (2/1) entry in this maiden race — Miss Ever Ready, with Frank T. Alvarado in the irons. This filly finished in the money for three of her seven career starts. She’s shown good performance in recent workouts, and her speed figures compare well against this field.
And at 10/1, Big Wish, ridden by Armando Ayuso, looks like a solid value show bet. This filly moneyed three of her six career starts and her speed numbers are good.
- Win: Miss Ever Ready 2/1
- Show: Big Wish 10/1
