Gen.G vs. OG – Epic League Division 1 (November 20, 2020)

Gen.G destroyed OG at the start of Group C in the Flashpoint Season 2, and the two teams now meet again in Lower Bracket Final. The winner will proceed to the knockouts, while the loser will be on the brink of elimination.

It should be an interesting match, and I share my thoughts on both CS:GO squads in this Gen.G vs. OG betting preview. The post includes the latest odds, my prediction, and a free betting pick for Friday’s encounter.

The leading CS:GO betting sites have surprised me with their Gen.G vs. OG odds.

The winner of the first clash is a big underdog in the second one and you don’t see that every day. I certainly agree that OG is the more talented squad, but it should be much closer based on the performances so far.

I had my doubts about Gen.G before the start of Flashpoint Season 2 after all the uncertainty surrounding the roster, but the squad has been solid.

The impressive opening win over OG was followed by a tough clash against Virtus.pro in the Upper Bracket Final. Sure, Gen.G lost against the Russian team, but looked strong in the process.

If the guys can keep it up, they certainly have a shot at beating OG for a place in the knockouts. The team has been exceptional on Train and solid on several other maps, which is another reason to stay confident for the upcoming clash.

I highlighted OG as one of my big favorites for Flashpoint Season 2 and I was shocked by the toothless performance in the first match against Gen.G. I believe that the side underestimated the level of the competition initially.

It’s true that many of the best CS:GO teams out there are not here, but the rest of the field is full of talented players and OG learned that the hard way.

The good news is that the team improved in the second match to beat Cloud9 and stay alive in the competition. The captain Aleksib stepped up big time to deliver 40 kills on Nuke and lead his team to the victory.

That should restore OG’s confidence and I expect a stronger performance against Gen.G this time around.

I believe that the second clash between Gen.G and OG should be much closer, but I’m not sure if the European team is that big of a favorite. I expect that both sides will win on their map picks and the clash will be decided on the third map.

The price of +118 for over 2.5 is excellent under such circumstances and my final pick, but backing Gen.G at +190 is not a bad choice either.
