Gen.G vs. G2 Esports Betting Preview – LoL Worlds, Saturday, October 17, 2020

I’m sure that every League of Legends fan will be watching the clash between Gen.G and G2 Esports on Saturday. Both sides haven’t been on the same level as the big favorites, but they have the talent and experience to fight for the Worlds 2020 title.

I believe that Saturday’s match should see the best of both sides and it has the potential to be epic. I share my expectations in this Gen.G vs. G2 Esports betting preview. The post includes the latest odds and lines, my prediction, and a free betting pick.

The Gen.G vs. G2 Esports odds of the top LoL betting sites on the web prove the lack of a clear favorite in this clash and I certainly understand the reasons behind that. Both sides have the talent and the ambitions to progress to the next stage of the tournament, so picking one of them is hard.

Many saw Group C of the LoL Wolds 2020 as the Group of Death, but Gen.G didn’t have too much trouble. The team lost only one clash against Fnatic and won the other five which was more than enough for the top spot.

The squad started the opening week slowly but the performance in the second one was superb. The mechanics improved and the decision-making was on another level compared to the opposition.

If Gen.G can raise the bar even more in the knockouts, the rest of the field should be scared. The South Koreans have built enough momentum going into the playoffs and they don’t have any obvious weaknesses.

Most of G2’s members were confident that the team could progress to the knockouts and that’s exactly what happened. The problem is that the squad finished second after losing twice against Suning in the second week and that’s not a good sign for the upcoming clashes.

On the other hand, underestimating G2 Esports is never a good idea. That’s the best team in Europe and the second-place finisher from 2019. The squad has been the same for a while now and I won’t be shocked if the performance is much better in the knockouts.

The experience and the pedigree are there, so G2 certainly is prepared for another deep run.

I believe this one is a coin toss and I struggle to pick a winner. Gen.G has been the better team so far in the competition, but let’s not forget how good G2 Esports has been over the years. I won’t be shocked if this one goes the distance and the price of +156 for over 4.5 games looks too high to ignore.
