There’s a strong argument to be made that Group A of the LoL Worlds 2020 Main Event will be the closest one and every team has a chance to qualify. The two squads labeled as favorites here start against each other on Sunday.

The top side in Europe and last year’s finalist G2 Esports will face Sunning and we know that any Chinese team is a threat during the League of Legends World Championship.

I’m not sure I share his confidence and I believe that all opponents in the group deserve respect. G2 Esports certainly has the talent and experience to progress, but underestimating the rest of the teams here could be deadly.

I believe that the opening clash against Suning is a good test for both sides’ credentials and I can’t wait to see what happens.

Every single team that can make it to the Worlds through the LPL deserves respect. Suning finished third in the Summer Playoffs of the top Chinese competition which is not an easy achievement with so much talent in the country.

The team beat some of the scariest opponents in the region on the road to the League of Legends World Championship 2020, so the ceiling of Sunning is high. The squad is used to compete against top talent and the pressure is off because most people are looking at the other Chinese organizations.

That leaves Suning in an excellent position, considering the team’s talent and experience.

I expect these two to progress from Group A, so Sunday’s clash might be crucial for the top spot. I believe that G2 Esports should be slightly better right now, but Suning’s progress in 2020 has been remarkable.

It should be a back-and-forth game with plenty of fights, so there could be plenty of kills. The price of -119 for over 28.5 looks solid and that’s my final betting pick.
